21.01.2022 I love the colours of wisteria. They really are so varied. I also love the texture and for that reason I used a palette knife on this painting with impasto medium to create some of that texture. The petals literally stick out from the canvas in some places. I also have a penchant for grey as a back drop as it complements the purple hues so well. 12.01.2022 Volcanic Acrylic Paint on canvas, stretched and ready to hang. 61cm (W) x 91.5cm (H) x 3.5cm (D) www.yvonnewells.com.au... This painting was created using rubbing alcohol and various materials to create texture between each layer of paint. There are about 4 layers of different colours applied to create the warmth and depth you see. The top layer is metallic gold which gives it a glow, especially in light. I have installed hanging wires in two situations so you can choose which way up you prefer. This painting would look very opulent in a black box frame. The edges, currently are painted beautiful deep black. I would love to paint more of these. If you are interested in other colours, in a similar style, let me know.

04.01.2022 Winners are grinners they say. I am GRINNING. I won this beautiful print of a painting I have adored for so long. Helen Norton paints with whimsy, humour, Australian colour and such wonderful stories. She also has online workshops which I plan to do...to learn how to loosen up a bit and just paint!!! I saw her giveaway advertised on Instagram , recognized the painting and just went for it!!...was meant to be!!... Take a look at her work, her online classes. You wont be sorry. Its all gorgeous!!
