24.01.2022 I, like most of Australia, woke to the sad news this morning, that former Nine's Wide World of Sports commentator, Darrell Eastlake has passed away, at the age of 75. For someone I wasn't fortunate enough to meet, Big Darrell was still a hugely important figure in my life - an idol, and someone I aspired to be. I took to my personal page to pay tribute to the Channel 9 legend a short time ago. #RIP #9WWOS.

22.01.2022 Having a look at the setup for tomorrow's Cessnock Strongman competition (most of it will be put in place early tomorrow morning)... it all starts at 10am tomorrow morning. Get yourself down here for a great day of entertainment, including the spectacular truck pull... great to be able to commentate something new, and to do it in my hometown will be even better. 22.01.2022 Staying back at 2MCE after Beat Cafe with Zak Caban on 2MCE to record commentary for Round 1 of the 2016 NSW Production Touring Cars Championship from Wakefield Park. Cary, Matthew and the team at More Driven Media have worked overtime to revamp the coverage for the new season - an intro, and all new graphics (see pic for teaser) to feature when the opening round premieres on YouTube soon.
21.01.2022 Some happy snaps from Saturday, ahead of the 2016 Cessnock Mitsubishi Australian Postie Bike Grand Prix tomorrow. I'll be calling the action with Nigel and Jake tomorrow all day long, and Cessnock's own 2CHR 96.5FM will take the 2-hour race LIVE... for those of you further afield, sadly there is no livestream, but I will endeavour to get a copy of the broadcast up in the days following the event. Track activity commences at 9am, with the feature race at 3pm - ENTRY IS FREE, and the Post-Race presentation will be held at the Peden's Hotel.
20.01.2022 The second of the big three in 2016 has been run and won at Mount Panorama - the inaugural running of the Hi-Tec Oils Pty Ltd Bathurst 6 Hour, as part of the 2016 Bathurst Motor Festival, which saw the return of big time Production Car racing to the Mountain for the first time since the 2010 Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour! It was a big weekend of work for 2MCE Sport, Zak Sports Media/Zak Motorsport and NSW Production Touring Cars - also threw in a report for National Radio News o...n Race day, as well as a last minute MC job, hosting a 6 Hour Q&A down at the Bathurst RSL Club on Friday night.. It was a privelige to interview the likes of John Bowe and David Wall, as well as Chaz Mostert and Nathan Morcom throughout the weekend. Thanks to Brian Nightingale for having me as MC for the Q&A he organised. Thanks also to Shelly Ives, Graham Mison, Daniel Holihan and Terry Nightingale for the pics taken across the course of the weekend. 19.01.2022 Over the weekend, I was fortunate to be at the iconic Lakeside Park Qld for the 7th Annual #LakesideTribute. It was a privilege to be asked to commentate the event, and MC the 'Weekend at Brocky's' Function on the Saturday night. I look forward to being back in the Sunshine/Sun shower State (we had three sun showers across the weekend) in a fortnight for Round 1 of the 2017 QRDC Season. Thanks to the team at Queensland Raceways for having me, and to Matthew Paul Photography for capturing a few happy snaps across the two days.

13.01.2022 Last night, I was very lucky to have the opportunity to host the Production Touring Cars Presentation Dinner at the Holiday Inn Parramatta It truly was a wonderful occasion, enjoyed by all who attended, and now the countdown is on to the start of the 2017 V8 Superlaps Championship, to be held at Wakefield Park at the beginning of April. We would normally do some content for Facebook LIVE, but with low WiFi and Mobile signal in the Anderson Ballroom, we were unable to do so, but my introduction to the evening was recorded to be shared later, and I thank Sydney Motorsport Park's David Conole for filming it for me.

09.01.2022 Yesterday, I was lucky enough to MC the official launch for the 3rd Annual Cessnock Mitsubishi Australian Postie Bike Grand Prix at the Peden's Hotel in Cessnock. Really looking forward to this event - Luke Richards and Marty McNamara are aiming for the hat-trick, having won the opening two editions. Having spoken to the organisers, they're pretty happy with how things are coming together. This year, the pit paddock is being relocated, as to is the commentary box, and there'l...l also be a brand new pedestrian bridge to get spectators from the outside to the inside of the circuit. Nigel Arnold will call the race with me again, and we'll be sitting right near the start/finish line, so I'm looking forward to that. 07.01.2022 This man was my Saturday afternoon babysitter throughout the 90's... Mum and Dad would sit me down in front of the TV at our home in the Hunter Valley, turn on NBN Television for Wide World of Sports, and let the male model from Mudgee and Big Maxy do the rest, and I'd be as happy as Larry. As a boy who, since the age of four or five, wanted to be a commentator, had a career goal of working at Channel 9 and LOVED Wide World of Sports, this is sad news, because along with Rich...ie and Big Darrell, Ken Sutcliffe was one of the men, front and centre, who delivered your sport to you, and left you waiting for your next serve... you aspired to either be, or work alongside these blokes, and I shouldn't forget Ray Warren, because even though he wasn't a host like the other three, he was another one who inspired me to do what I do now. Kenny's departure will leave a hole in that Sunday morning sports program, and it's sad that Wide World has finished up for 2016 - one more episode would've proved a very fitting farewell for its longest serving host. Thursday December 8 is when the great man reads his final sports bulletin for 9 News Sydney - one that you don't want to miss... it will be a very special occasion! Enjoy retirement, Mr Sutcliffe... you've been an idol of mine since I knew what an idol was. 06.01.2022 Was great to work on a 2MCE production with my old colleague, Lachlan Mansell again this weekend. We were at Wakefield Park for Round 4 of the New South Wales Motor Racing Championships, including Round 3 of the V8 Superlaps NSW Production Touring Cars Championship - the first MoComm - Racing Communications Cup race of the season. 05.01.2022 Throwback Thursday | To what is annually the best week of any given year - in this case, the 2014 SuperCheap Auto 1000. Our dedicated team produced over 24 hours of coverage across 2MCE Sport and Zak Sports Media under the 2MCE banner (For the first time, not all coverage produced aired on 2MCE, and it was also the first time we had the technology to air coverage on a different medium). Apart from the finish, which remains the best we've ever seen on the Mount Panorama Circui...t, two of my highlights were catching up with, and interviewing Greg Rust (in what would be his last year at Ten Sport), as well as SKY Sport NZ's Anchorman, Stephen McIvor... you'll find both interviews on the Zak Sports website, and I'm very much looking forward to seeing the legends again, when the attention of the Motorsport world is centred around the best 6.213km of Australian Motor Racing Real Estate on the second weekend of October! 05.01.2022 Here's a throwback to the 2016 Cessnock Mitsubishi Australian Postie Bike Grand Prix. I'm pleased to say that I'll be calling the event again this year. It's taking place on Sunday, November 5... AND, for the first time, it'll be going out LIVE on Newcastle's own 2nurfm... so, if you can't be with us trackside, you'll hear all the action on 103.7FM.... It's a MUST DO event on the calendar - the whole town of Cessnock really embraces it, from the pre-event gathering at Peden's Hotel on the Saturday afternoon, right through to the post-event festivities back there from 5:30pm on the Sunday afternoon, and it'll be the same again this coming November. I look forward to the trek from Bathurst to Cessnock for it every single year, and I hope to see you all there once again. #PostieBikeGP #Cessnock
