12.01.2022 The Migration of the Humpback Whale is something I have always wanted to capture. Even though it is still early in the migration season, our crew were lucky enough to spot this very playful pod of humpback whales. We were fortunate to experience many breaches, fin and pectoral slaps as well as the powerful penducle throw, where the whale raises its entire torso and tail out of the water, twists and slams their lower half down onto the water surface. The male humpback whale is known for its unusually long and intricate underwater songs that travel far and wide across the oceans lasting for hours. Scientists believe that humpback whales do this to communicate with other whales and possibly attract a mate! Photos shot with the Canon 5D Mark IV Body and Canon 100400mm f/4.55.6l is ii usm Lens.

12.01.2022 How many waterfalls can you count? Exploring a moody Fiordland is an experience in itself. We drove our campervan from Wanaka hoping for a clear sunny day of exploring this beautiful part of NZ. However, we were instead met with an insane moody backdrop that was as dramatic as ever for the entire trip towards Milford Sound!
