02.01.2022 Dear owner/Tenants Possible extreme weather warning in NSW As your management company, we thought it prudent to advise you of a potential "significant weather event" thats been predicted to hit the east coast and inland of New South Wales over the coming weekend: Saturday 18 & Sunday 19 June, and into Monday 20 June next week. ... These extreme weather events can have a devastating impact on your property, possessions and more importantly, on lives. As a precaution, we suggest that owners inform their residential community of the possible risk. Roof, gutter, window and eaves leaks are sometimes inevitable during these types of deluges, and there is little that can be done at the time to rectify these, as contractors are unable to attend whilst this weather is occurring. If you experience a roof, window or eaves leak, try to minimise the water damage as much as possible, and report this to your strata manager via email, and follow up once the weather has subsided. Avoid extensive damage to your property Contractors are often unable to attend during bad weather conditions, so please note the following recommended precautionary steps. For Lights and power points that may become wet, these would need to be switched off at the mains fuse box. Keep your property, yard and balcony clear of any potentially dangerous items, especially clearing all balcony drains. Monitor basement and carpark sump pumps and alarms for high water levels as cars and/or possessions may have to be moved before flooding occurs. If you have experienced flooding previously in your apartment, garage or basement, consider other methods to stop water penetration such as sandbagging. Ensure residents are fully aware of the evacuation plan procedures and have an emergency kit easily at hand.
