25.01.2022 Chickens trying out our new (to us) Mobile Chicken Run thanks to my amazing husband Paul for using his skills to put this together using bits and pieces, off cuts and things found. Zero Waste doesn’t mean we don’t have stuff, it means we use what we have to make what we need... #zerowasteliving #wastefreeliving #usewhatyouhave #chickens #zerowastefamily

25.01.2022 Taking care of yourself the Zero Waste Way can take many forms - some times is whipping up a relaxing face mask out of fridge/pantry ingredients, sometimes it’s saying no to another event you’ve been invited to, and sometimes it’s visiting a beautiful nature spot, like I did yesterday. I spent time with a couple of beautiful people who wanted nothing from me, they simply make my life better. And I got to breath in fresh ocean air and take in a whole lot of Vitamin D... while it may of been a short visit, it was a much needed one Take care of you

24.01.2022 It’s the simple things in life... This Zero Waste journey isn’t about perfection, it’s about progress... To look down at my plate and see how far we’ve come in the last 4 or so years is encouraging... This breakfast was not only zero waste, it was: - Homemade Bread ... - Locally grown Avocado - Homegrown Cherry tomatoes - Locally grown mushrooms You’d pay for this in a cafe, and at the moment especially it’s honestly not even enjoyable to think of eating out. Hedonism is a word worth learning and worth meditating on... Add frugality and Zero Waste to Hedonism and you’ve got a blissful life ahead

18.01.2022 Simple Zero Waste swap for your Monday... #1 Replace buying new with buying second hand or go straight to step #2 and just borrow what you need, treat it with care and return it This collection of Dork Diaries books have slowly been collected by my daughter. She has found them in Op Shops & Market Stalls. She treasures all of them because of the time it’s taken her to find them. And when she is done with them, she wants to gift them to her younger cousin to enjoy....

15.01.2022 Garden gifts Feeling very blessed that I have the opportunity to grow food for us and for our extended family These heirloom variety of Tomatoes are called Black Cherry from The Diggers Club and they’re loving the spot I have them planted - I’ve counted over 70 growing currently ... Have a go at growing your own greens and even some tomatoes, be it on your front patio in containers that you’ve saved from landfill or in a pallet that you’ve rescued off the side of the road like my love did for me - you’ll be presently surprised what grows with a little effort and a lot of love
