23.01.2022 A fresh playlist for your listening and moving pleasure https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4id7Q4s2llT8eFBQdxo4IC

19.01.2022 Another day of the weather playing tricks on us today in Naarm and the jasmine blooming on every corner. Zeru playlists have got your back if you are in need of practising some ecstatic dance to wash away the grey tones of the day. My top pick of songs from this playlist for today would be Beginner's Luck - Maribou State and Manana Tepotzlan - El Buho xx https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4id7Q4s2llT8eFBQdxo4IC

18.01.2022 This time last year at Dancehouse, teaching Everyone Can Dance, in the middle of my teacher training. I loved this night and the dances I experienced. This video is easily still one of my favoruite improv sessions that I captured. I remember feeling so in sync and connected to my place and purpose of movement and teaching. Physically, this feels like a long time ago as my body aches in the cold cramped spaces of mu room, still providing space for me but little equates to fre...edom of a studio. I am so grateful for our year at Dancehouse. Another year will come for our freedom of movement soon. The song title for this track is "If Only" by Raveena, and in a way it couldn't be more fitting for this current moment xx

11.01.2022 Back to utilising our environment (really our bedrooms) for dance

08.01.2022 ZERU supports the global Black Lives Matter movement and the Stop to Black deaths in custody. We acknowledge that systemic racism and oppression has and continues to harm the communities around us and all over the world. The highlighted injustice that is being experienced in Australia and America currently is inexcusable and we support the fight in dismantling these systems of white supremacy in our community and in ourselves. We are an anti-racist organisation. We stand in... solidarity with the bla(c)k community here and internationally. As a dance organisation, we have been informed by music and dance created by bla(c)k and POC communities. We have been so privileged in this access and will continue to maintain this recognition of our privilege while also celebrating these artists through our movement practices. We also strive to continue learning to be informed about how we can do better and be allies for change. For our non-POC community, we encourage you to do the same. We would also like to acknowledge that we live, work and dance on the stolen land of the Boon Wurrung and Woiwurrung Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation. We acknowledge that these are the traditional owners fo the land and pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging. Sovereignty was never ceded. Remember to listen, respond with care. We will do the same Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
