25.01.2022 Welcome to Zonta, Monica.

25.01.2022 Our Dinner Meeting speaker this month was Jo from the Queensland Police Service. Jo told us of her passion working with the Service in conjunction with the Confident Girls Foundation and the Caboolture Netball Association on a Creating Confidence program. Through sport children can develop resilience, positive behaviours and attitudes that can help them navigate through life. It was great to learn more about the program and to feel Jo’s understated passion. Our club is happy that we have been able to support Caboolture girls to enjoy and learn through playing netball.

20.01.2022 It's Equal Pay Day. [But signs that we are going backwards are frequently reported by reputable agencies.] The workplaces where women and men do have equal pay are the "feminised" workplaces where the value of the work is regarded as "essential" during a pandemic but not in the pay packet.

19.01.2022 Tomorrow is Father's Day. It will also be the first BBQ that the Zonta Club of Caboolture will be holding at Bunnings, Morayfield since February. This year has been so tough on all organisations, especially those, who depend on fundraising for much needed projects. The community of the Caboolture/Morayfield have always been so supportive of Zonta Caboolture. So, we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible, to buy a delicious sausage sizzle, cooked with much love by o...ur members. We are starting nice and early at 7.00am. SEE YA THERE. See more

19.01.2022 On Sunday 19th September members and a big band of supporters packed 1200 Birthing Kits. Thank you to Pastor Gerard of Hope Pointe Church for allowing us to use the church hall and to Sarah for her initiative and organisation of this. We had 21 people attend for a great day of work and fellowship

17.01.2022 While it was predominantly women who held the "necessary worker" status at the height of the spikes in Covid -19 they are also the most heavily impacted. The loss of paid work and income, increased workload in the home while teaching and caring for multiple children and often for elderly parents has fallen on women disproportionately. The scariest aspect though, is an increase in violence, physical, emotional and financial while being confined to their home during lock down with the perpetrator. Support groups and help centres everywhere report big increases in cries for help. Let's hope that they get increased funds to support the very many women and their children who need real assistance right now. 16.01.2022 Due to the amazing support from Joan Haupt and Zonta Club of Caboolture President, Patricia Clunes with a donation of $1500, Senior Constable Kris Parker from P...CYC Caboolture will now be able to continue to deliver the RUBY Program for the remainder of 2020. This donation has enabled the purchase of new fitness equipment needed to support this vital program for victims of domestic and family violence within the Caboolture Community. See more

14.01.2022 It was great to see most of our members at our monthly Dinner Meeting last night, to induct a new member and enjoy the company of a return visitor, Karen. Positivity in the face of physical restrictions and focussed discussion about actions we can take to lead to the prevention of Child Marriage in Australia was energising. Child Marriage occurs in all communities and takes place all over our country. We are determined to advocate strongly for change while understanding that there is no quick fix. Child marriage is defined as marriage under the age of 18.

09.01.2022 Celebrating 27 years of Zonta in Caboolture!

06.01.2022 We are very proud to be associated with RUBY. Ruby is a free strength program for women who are or likely to be experiencing domestic violence. It is run by PCYC Queensland. The program is designed to empower women by building physical strength and contributing to general well being, emotional resilience, self esteem, and confidence through physical exercise in a violence free and safe environment. For further information go to pcyc.org.au/ruby or leave a message on our page and one of our Zonta members will contact you. Like many groups, charities, organisations RUBY has also been affected by COVID19 , with funding cuts, etc. so it was a proud moment for our club to donate $1500.00 to RUBY.
