18.01.2022 I just love how small and insignificant you feel standing in the presence of such a spectacular animal
17.01.2022 How good is that pineapple mint
17.01.2022 The Golden Lion Tamarin to me is the species you imagine when you think of the Brazilian rainforest... unfortunately their fate is tied to the rainforest along with its demise #goldenliontamarin #threatenedspecies
16.01.2022 She learned to wink on cue
15.01.2022 I remember the very first zoo book I had as a child had a red panda on the front and they have held my fascination since that day. They have been put under so much pressure just as so many species have been purely due to human encroachment. Thankfully there is some real work being done on protection and re release programs which can hopefully save these amazing animals from disappearing #threatened species
15.01.2022 The most handsome boy with eyes that suggest he’s been here before #threatenedspecies
13.01.2022 The birth of every individual when the species is threatened is such an amazing moment especially when they are to be part of a release program #brushtailedrockwallaby #featherdale #realease #program
12.01.2022 Maji is doing really well, playing more and more, growing everyday with her insatiable appetite. She certainly found it very hard especially to settle with her sister suddenly gone but I’m giving her all my attention and she is finding her new normal
11.01.2022 Hard to imagine how big and powerful this little paw is going to get
11.01.2022 So hard to believe this is the same view 1 year later Thank you so much for all the well wishes, messages of support and prayers this year it has meant the world It’s been my privilege to share all the amazing moments that have happened Mogo Wildlife Park and Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park in 2020... can’t wait to do it again this year
11.01.2022 Probably the biggest personality of any Australian animal to the point where they even enjoy play as much as a dog #hairynosedwombat #threatenedspecies
10.01.2022 Death unfortunately can be treated as a bit of a taboo in zoos as it is often a difficult story to explain, especially the amount of times we really just don’t know why But we can’t have the amazing joy of birth and babies without an end of life as well. The last couple of days have dealt me two horrible blows. Moto one of the lions cubs passed very suddenly just before her lunch time feed 2 days ago after a seizure, and Ngkurr our stunning salt water crocodile surcome to ...a stomach tumour and passed away this morning. These moments are beyond hard. Moto passing seemingly for no reason at all, her autopsy so far has shown she was a perfectly healthy cub. And. ngkurr having cared for him for over 20 years is just such a phenomenal figure and presence at Featherdale that could never be replaced. As much as I’d like to hide away from these moments I believe they need to be shared so that the grieving can be done communally, so we can celebrate the time we spent with these amazing creatures whether it was for a long time or tragically short. Death is never easy for us to deal with but is made easier if we do it together See more
08.01.2022 With all the love and kisses we have we would like to welcome our newest giraffe calf to Mogo Wildlife Park today
07.01.2022 Rhinos are just such beautiful gentle giants and anyone given the chance to encounter one up close comes away changed by the experience. This planet would be such a lesser place without them in it
06.01.2022 How good is springtime with all the babies everywhere
06.01.2022 One very special moment from this year when Twiga was first born and just so innocently walked straight up to say hi
05.01.2022 Just making sure everyone is aware it’s #worldlemurday
04.01.2022 Just a little bit milk drunk
04.01.2022 Today is threatened species day here is Australia. There are so many iconic species from around the world that are under serious threat and many people don’t even realise. How tragic would it be to lose a species like the koala but it could actually happen in our life time. This week I’ll show you some of these icons that are in real trouble, because the first step to changing their plight is simply awareness
03.01.2022 I just can’t get enough of all the different eyes in nature
01.01.2022 He was just soooo little
