23.01.2022 STUDIO SATURDAY Independant artist Shook may have room to improve on cable management, but he isnt lacking in flexibility and creativity. His studio presents synths all-and-sundry, covering early digital with a DK Synergy MKI (only around 100 left in the world, knocked off by the DX7) and more rare blood in the Polymoog 203A. His latest synth funk jams feature much Juno-60 and DX7, and add further breadth to his experience writing a companion album for a Pulitzer-prize winni...ng author on the South China Sea and collaborating with Chinese-language artists, producing a song "deaf"! Check SHOOK out here.

23.01.2022 ALOHA claims to be bringing out a solution for real-time jam sessions - with options for live-streaming to fans. ~1ms latency for any high speed net connection with a proprietary audio interface... too good to be true? 19.01.2022 FEATURE STORY :: CASSIAN One-time Rfs du Sol protege, Cassian, is flying solo with a huge new album, Laps. LA-Based Aussie, Cassian, maintains a number of hearing/metering checks and balances throughout his mix process. His gain structure always starts with false headroom, knocking back his master fader 6dB, and keeping a self-imposed limit of ensuring any one sound in solo doesnt exceed -6dB. In order for that to happen, the drum bus cant be too loud, because youre not going to turn up your kick past that, explained Cassian. If you want your kick louder, then turning it up isnt the answer. Its a different workaround. Maybe its some clipping, maybe its a different EQ to make it feel louder without using up more peak level. Full story here :: https://www.audiotechnology.com/features/putting-in-the-laps

12.01.2022 SACRED SUNDAY The unique ability of ADAPTive to be hung straight to smoothly cover wide seating areas, plus its stellar sonic performance made it a no brainer for the church to choose this product. When Michael Garrison Associates was contracted to upgrade the existing loudspeaker system for Abundant Church’s 3,600-seat main auditorium at its East Campus in El Paso, President/Owner Michael Garrison and his team turned to EAW and its ADAPTive PA system.... I am impressed with this system’s imagery and coverage throughout the room it’s beyond anything I’ve heard in a live setting, says John Buntyn, Abundant Church’s Audio Director. The systems’ ability to respond to minute adjustments makes it a joy to mix on. I appreciate that the mix from front of house translates throughout the room for the congregation’s listening experience.

01.01.2022 STUDIO SATURDAY "Having those subgroup faders in the center section where I can do parallels, or using them as master faders for whatever I want, is fantastic. Studio owner, engineer and musician Thales Tonin has remodeled and relaunched his Everest Studio as a commercial operation, featuring a Solid State Logic ORIGIN analog mixing console with an integrated SSL UF8 Advanced DAW Controller. Carlos Duttweller, whose Pro Studios Architecture and Acoustics firm has worked on m...ore than 500 audio and video facilities throughout Brazil and around the world, designed the facility. When clients come here, they want a different experience. That’s what we’re trying to offer. We have a big, really nicely treated live room so we get the best isolated but live feel. We can put the drummer in a booth and record the grand piano and do a live take of the vocalist. And everybody can see each other, it is the best of both worlds. All my Pro Tools needs are met with the UF8. It’s a fantastic piece of gear and incorporates really well into the console design. I’m using it especially for automation. I love the faders for automation; they feel great.

01.01.2022 Trust Les Paul to have such a mad home studio.
