25.01.2022 woohoo, Ill be stewarding at the Qld beer awards again in March. Theyve obviously forgotten everything that happened last year. Getting exposure to all the great beers being produced across this great country. And sharing beers/stories with all the great beer people as well. My beer-life highlight last year! Fingers crossed for an air-conditioned area for sorting all the kegs on the Sunday. That was brutal last year......... #qldbeerawards #rna #rqfws

24.01.2022 Today we have Madocke Beer Brewing Company racking up 10,000 automated readings. Jimmy has also managed 4 ferments using the automated cold crash schedule to preserve the health of his precious Belgian yeast for future re-use. All this with SMS messages for temperatures being out of range.... Automate your brewery!!

24.01.2022 Just released an automated weekly email process which includes graphs for active devices for the week. At the moment it is for my monitoring and control devices but will expend it out to include Tilt and iSpindel devices over the weekend. Enjoy your Easter weekend, Angus. PS: this email will normally be sent at 4pm Brisbane time so thats a reasonable time to crack a beer I reckon.

24.01.2022 Building a temp monitoring device for installing later this week at <>. It will be epic, no it will be huge, no it will be fast... Enough with the cryptic clues, therell be photos later this week.

23.01.2022 Early March Ill be performing steward duties for the beer awards at the royal qld food and wine show. Last year was a blast with this year promising to be a little cooler with a change of venues. Easily my favourite beer event of last year. Great beer people and great beers!

23.01.2022 Whats the worst thing about covid? not getting along to the best little Belgian brewery in qld. Whats the best thing? Not even leaving your sanitised desk and having belgos rock up to your door. Home delivered belgian dark strongs! What a time to be alive!!

23.01.2022 Qld beer awards kicking off. Yieeeewwwww #qldbeerawards #rqfws #rqfwsbeerawards

23.01.2022 I've been upgraded from steward to judging pale lagers at #qabc today. I'm looking forward to a day of subtle beers. No diacetyl please.

22.01.2022 Ill be giving a presentation on Brewers Chronicle this Thursday night at my homebrew club Brisbane Amateur Beer Brewers (BABBs) Guests welcome to turn up and listen to me drone on about the importance of data and keeping accurate records, being able to analyse that data, compare sets of records, etc, etc, etc...

22.01.2022 So I've started work on the temperature monitoring device. At this stage you will need to configure the device with your API key and WiFi details and it will talk directly to Brewers Chronicle. This device will have logging, charts, and also SMS alerts when temperature out of user-defined range. Just to be clear, this will not allow control of devices, just simple temp monitoring My plan is to have some prototypes in place by the end of the month. Anyone want to trial it out?... #protoTypingLife #brewerySoftware #allthelogs #beerNerds

22.01.2022 So Im pretty close to finishing off my temp monitoring device. Will provide readings, graphs, and SMS alerts for out of range temps. Perfect for letting you know when you beer is at the perfect drinking temperature. Or maybe more importantly your glycol chilling system, bar serving temps, or your keezer. #beernerds #brewerysoftware #allthelogs #qldbeer

21.01.2022 Early March I'll be performing steward duties for the beer awards at the royal qld food and wine show. Last year was a blast with this year promising to be a little cooler with a change of venues. Easily my favourite beer event of last year. Great beer people and great beers!

21.01.2022 Almost finished the ability to add in a manual calendar item to a ferment log, and it displaying on the various graphs as a vertical line. Useful for dry-hop or adjunct additions, or recording when your brewery cat fell into the fermentor. RIP Citra!!!!

21.01.2022 My PCBs arent far off, so wrapping up a few features before they arrive. Firing an external SSR to emulate customer install. Also finished adding in a user-configurable compressor delay period for brewers using fridge for cooling

20.01.2022 Hi everybody, I have released some new features to the brewery asset section. You can now define your own alert thresholds instead of the 2 degree system default. These values are the degrees difference from your target temperature. If you dont want a lower temp alarm, leave it unticked. You can also use the same section to manually control the target temperature on my temp control devices. Previously you had to attach a ferment log, and start the ferment process to submit s...ettings down to the local control device. Now you can control settings on the device itself. When you are ready for the ferment schedule to control settings, attach the device to the ferment log. I have updated the user manual for my temperature monitoring device. You can also follow the same instructions for the temperature control device. https://brewerschronicle.com/Re/BC_TempMonitor%20manual.pdf Thanks, Angus.

18.01.2022 Soldering all sockets and components on PCB. Got LCD and temp probe wired in and both testing correctly. Tomorrow night control button and relay wired in. And then a live ferment test. Woohoo, solid progress.

17.01.2022 Hey everybody, Ticked over 50 page likes. A pretty good effort for someone who hasn't got a single marketing bone in his body. Thanks for your interest. Feel free to tag people who might be interested in my activities so they can join follow along.... Cheers, Angus.

17.01.2022 Looks like the BC temp controlling device just got.. . . Tilt'd!!!... stay tuned for a more formal announcement after I test it on a ferment of Fuggles-based English pale ale.

16.01.2022 Integrating PT100 RTD temp probes and finalising DS18B20 one wire integration for my temp controller device #prototypingLife

16.01.2022 Just finished installing a temp monitoring device at @ballisticbeerspringfield This will let head brewer Lachy monitor temps remotely and receive SMS alerts if the chilling system fails. #qldbeer #breweryhardware #brewerysoftware #craftbeer ... #automateyourbrewery #ballisticbrewingco #ballisticbrewingcospringfield @ Ballistic Springfield Brewery, Bar & Kitchen See more

15.01.2022 Woohoo!! PCBs have arrived. Hope to have a temp controller built by tomorrow night to put it through its paces on a pale ale ferment.

15.01.2022 The latest set of features for my temp control device is to log cooling status activation to the site. This allows you to track fermentor cooling needs, and match it against your chilling system usage. #brewerysoftware #beernerds #qldbeer #allthelogs

15.01.2022 Ive been upgraded from steward to judging pale lagers at #qabc today. Im looking forward to a day of subtle beers. No diacetyl please.

15.01.2022 It's aliiiiivvvve!!! So my temp controller is now in charge of my latest ipa ferment. PCB design is working perfectly, 2 way comms to website working well! Need a custom bracket designed for LCD and then I can mount it all in an enclosure. Then down the radio comms certification path I go.

14.01.2022 Temperature monitoring device ready for install tomorrow morning. This device will be used to monitor chilling system temperatures at a remote site providing assurance to the head brewer that temperatures are in range without having to travel #qldbeer #breweryhardware #brewerysoftware #craftbeer #automateyourbrewery

13.01.2022 Looks like I'm on target to get my temperature monitoring device to a few testers at month end. This device will have a temp probe, submit readings to the website. The website will provide the normal graphs and SMS alerts. More info at the end of the month #automateYourBrewery #beernerds #allthelogs #brewerysoftware

13.01.2022 So we ticked over 100,000 readings overnight. So some basic stats: 99% readings from automatic devices 3 systems integrated for automatic ferment temp control based on automatic gravity readings 66% gravity readings ... 44% temperature readings This is a bit of a stretch 67% homebrewers 33% professional brewers

13.01.2022 I figure working from home means I can repurpose parking money to beer money. Little mini-haul from @saccharomycesbeercafe #keepinglocalalive Every beer or meal you buy off a local helps out a local family. Skip the big guys and support the little guys. ... PS: Epic Brewery still counts as local in my book.

12.01.2022 Temperature monitoring device has stabilised at 6 degrees, and will now send me an SMS when temp difference is 2 degrees away from 6 degrees. Im a week off sending out some prototypes to a few breweries here in south-east qld. Set and forget temp monitoring & alarm for your cooling systems, serving fridges, barrel storage areas, etc. #brewerysoftware #beernerd #allthelogs #qldbeer #qldcraftbeer

12.01.2022 Do you often find yourself pining for a traditional belgian beer on a Saturday afternoon? Madocke now has you covered with new take away hours.

11.01.2022 Woohoo, I am one of the stewards at qabc today. Ill be the guy sitting around barking orders on the UHF. Good luck to all the homebrewers who have entered. Good luck to the judges. #qabc2019 Newstead Brewing Co.

07.01.2022 Just installed a prototype temp monitoring device at @madockebeerbrewingcompany Set target temp and youll get automatic sms messages when out of spec. Monitor chilling systems, cold rooms, serving fridges, etc. #beernerd #qldbeer #brewerysoftware #allthelogs

06.01.2022 I'm about to install my temperature monitoring prototype in my keezer. You can set a target temp in the web interface. Device transmits readings every 15 minutes and you get an SMS if temps get out of range.

04.01.2022 In the interests of making my life easier, I spent a fair bit of time this month merging 4 firmware versions into 1. Previously I had the following versions => temp monitor for DS18B20 OneWire probes => temp monitor for PT100 probes... => temp controller for DS18B20 OneWire probes => temp controller for PT100 probes I have now merged them all into one firmware which is really going to simplify adding new features and keeping all devices synchronised There is now a radio buttons to switch between OneWire (DS18B20) or PT100 support Maybe I should version it to 1.0.0.0 at some point.

03.01.2022 Reached 50k readings this morning. They are flying in thick and fast, thank to iSpindel, Tilt, and BruControl integration. #automateYourBrewery #beernerds #brewerysoftware #allthelogs https://brewerschronicle.com/Home/Stats

03.01.2022 This week Semi-pro brewing are running some karma kegs to raise money for the fire-fighting efforts. Get in, drink some delicious beer, and raise some desperately needed money.

02.01.2022 So here is the Royal Queensland Food and Wine show beer awards wrap-up video presented by BeerMatt Congrats to all the brewers who put entries in. There were so many beers of a high standard it was hard to pick a favourite. The One Drop Brewing Co. 5 Brett saison rated highly for me (and the judges). A great base saison with slightly dank fruit and some barnyard funk characters. High carbonation left it spritzy and quite dry on the finish.... The Madocke Beer Brewing Company Belgian offerings were a hit with the stewards, and deservedly took out a few silver and bronze medals with the judges. Felons Brewing Co. RIS was a big nasty boy weighing in at 10.5% and I threw the glass out as there was no hope of chiselling the lacing off. And other beers I got to sample were great offerings in their styles. Ill be back next year, and I also put forward interest in stewarding at the Indies later this year. Im hooked.
