25.01.2022 Round 2 of new signings and re-signings to round out the week and 2 more new faces at the Castle with Jack Gallaher back to Brisbane after a stint with the Essendon Doutta Stars Football Club in Melbourne along with Wes Weeks from Mt Lofty Devils - our 3rd player from the SA club as he joins the Artis brothers at the Kings. We are also glad to have 8 more recommitting to the squad including current club captain Sam Holna, 240 game veteran Josh Lake and 3 time best & fairest J...ack Lake. We also retain experienced heads in Mitch Heaslip, Zac Chapman & Kristian Rizzo alongside emerging leaders in Aidan Faulkner & James Kelly. All great contributors to our football club and we look forward to seeing you all in action again in 2021. We are now only 4 days away from bringing the band back together, footy is almost here again. Happy Friday Kings. #GTBAK

22.01.2022 Special day for Coorparoo Junior Australian Football Club Under 16 Jaspa Fletcher who made his senior debut for the Coorparoo Kings today. He didn’t look one bit out of place and even managed to put the game to bed with the goal that sealed the 96-86 win for the Seniors vs UQ. Well done Jaspa #GTBAK #coorparoojafc

20.01.2022 The future of the Kings. Tonight’s 10 re-signings are all players under 21 who are emerging leaders of the club. Shayle Korander enters his 4th season of senior football at 19 and is already creating headaches with his run and carry. Sam Hickie is back after his senior Rising Star award in 2020, playing every senior game as an Under 18. Corey Holdsworth and Louis Cosmo are no strangers to the 2pm slot and with a full pre season under the belt can be a force for the Kings. ... We welcome 4 Colts leaders in Isaac Lynch, Noah Swan, Cory Taumaunu & Andy McErlain. Each of these 4 are all capable of coming in and making an immediate impact as they have this season. Luke Morrison wrestled his way into Saturday footy and showed what he is capable of, his tenacity unmatched despite often being outsized. Last but not least, a raw talent in Moe Ibrahim will be hoping to further develop his game and take his elusiveness and goal sense to another level. A talented group to take us forward #GTBAK

On Saturday is was a tough contest for our QAFLW girls who just fell short to Bond University. Congratulations to the QAFLW girls who have finished 5th overall and will play off in an elimination final against Yeronga this Saturday 12th! A big shout out to our Development girls who defeated Bond University finishing off the season as Minor Premiers! 16.01.2022 We are back for another round of Kings committing after our first night on the track last night. A positive start with 52 fronting up to get some km’s in the legs, including plenty of new faces. Tonight’s crew includes a new general down back with Tom Smart returning to the club after his stint with Coorparoo as a junior along with a familiar face in James Fitzgerald, who has renewed his lease on the clubhouse wing for another year in the pursuit of a 3rd senior premiership. ...Next up we have the trio of tall timber with Todd Capell back to lock down a key position spot behind the footy. Henry Spurling was enormous for the magoo’s at both ends of the field and will again be an important piece of our senior list. Last of the trio is ‘Sparkles’ Hainsworth who has been used in every position down back and will be hoping to master the half back flank for 2021, his run and carry always important. Leg speed is the theme for the next two additions with James Joseph returning after a run of injuries and Ben Beaumont joining the club. The dash from both are sure to cause headaches when given space. Rounding out tonight’s 10 we have Tyler Hayes, Ziad Suliman Ali & Marrkus Sollmer. Tyler and Marrkus were rocks in defence for the reserves and both have come back looking in ripping shape as they hit pre season. Our big man Ziad has ability in spades and hits like a tonne of bricks, we will get him purring for round 1 and watch him climb over his opponents. The legs will be ticking over again tomorrow night from 6pm. Look forward to seeing more new faces out there #GTBAK

15.01.2022 3 more Kings locking in at the Castle. We welcome Lliam 'Buster' Molan to the club after a cross code stint. Skilled and athletic, he will add value across our half back line however has the ability to swing forward and kick a snag or two Jack McMahon has become a nightmare for his opponents in his couple of seasons with the Kings. Most games giving up height in key positions, his strength and overhead marking often wins out... Third and final for the night we have Mitch Johnstone. An important contributor across the season on his wing with his work rate and ability to find the ball in space a big asset to the Reserves lineup. 14.01.2022 Good news to head into your weekend with the Senior Men’s coaching panel locked and loaded for 2021. Returning senior coach Barry O'Brien has had a big impact in first season at the helm and is building an army to try and take the squad deep into finals action. An excellent footy brain with plenty of experience at multiple levels. Welcome back Baz He is joined by Gold Coast Suns AFLW captain Sam Virgo who will be taking on the Midfield brigade in tandem with playing assistant... Rory Lake Sam has an elite understanding of the game and is no stranger to success with the Yeronga Devils in the QAFLW, a fierce competitor with a desire to win who will drive our group forward. Rory has a few runs on the board in the coaching caper after coaching the Kings to the 2016 premiership. A great state league footballer who at 35 is still is one of the elite players in the competition. A lethal combo at any level of footy Rounding it out is long time Kings servant in Darren Fazldeen who led the charge for our backline in 2020. A wealth of experience that is sure to shape our backline into a force to be reckoned with. An exciting group is building behind the footy and his direction will be pivotal. 11.01.2022 Hi Footy Fans, this Saturday at the club we will be showing the AFL Grand Final on a Huge Screen outside (2560mm x 1600mm). We will also have 3 other Tv's going at the same time giving everyone a good view. Bar will open. Tables and chairs available(limited) or bring along a picnic rug/fold out chairs. Please do not bring alcohol along but please feel free to bring cheese patter/snacks for you to enjoy during the game. Some hot food will be available to buy. 10.01.2022 10 more Kings locking in for your Monday blues We kick it off with a young gun in Jack Wratten who continues his rise to be one of the toughest match up's in Queensland footy. Capable of playing both tall and small and always dangerous around goal. The crowd requested the re-signing of Elliot Duke and he has delivered. An inside mid with an elite running capacity who is sure to play a key cog in the midfield.... Bodie Williamson has returned to the Kings to do some damage in tandem with brother Jake Williamson. Both have played senior footy with the club and are sure to add plenty of class. Zac Hughes and Campbell Luers both crossed over to us in 2020 and quickly became entrenched in the group. These two often set the tone for physicality on the field and will continue to lead by action. Henry Blunt, the man with a tan strung together performances that he will look to build on in 2021 with a renewed confidence in his rig. Jarrod Nuttall and Jarryd Walsh were ultra consistent across the year and are always 2 of the first magnets that go down come selection time. We wrap up it up with a bang with Josh Hickie back to turn blokes inside out each weekend. His speed and decision making with ball in hand a class above and at his best is a game changer at senior level An exciting crew who will all be hunting some finals action in 2021. Sunshine Coast big man Jack Tomkinson is fresh from a season off footy and comes to Giffin Park looking to give our mids first use. Nick Dickson will be part of the midfield brigade looking to capitalise. Welcome to the Kings Jack & Nick Up next we see the return of 3 veterans. Paul James is back to chase a 6th flag as he edges towards 200 games. Michael Artis and his lethal left b...oot still have plenty to offer while Adam ‘Choccie Neale’ Russo who reinvented himself as a goal kicking mid in 2021 will be hoping to take the reserves to the pointy end of the season again. We also have the return of key defensive pillars in Henry Shanks & James Lynne after a year away from the club, both are sure to inject plenty of leadership behind the footy. They will be joined by cross coder Harry Gard who after playing senior footy in just 4th game is keen to add some new roles into his game. Rounding out our Sunday crew we have ultimate swing man Zach Rollason who will have a point to prove after dominating at both ends in the reserves and will have his eyes on 2pm and last but not least, the club tractor in Will Stokes is already putting in work to make sure he is well oiled to steer the defensive unit for another season. He has steered his squad to a grand final appearance in 2019, a finals showing in 2020 amongst senior debuts from Sam Hickie, Kai Purslow & Paddy Cockerill.
