25.01.2022 Cancellation Announcement After much careful consideration, and in light of the government-mandated Covid-19 restrictions, the Leura Gardens Festival committee has made the difficult decision to cancel the Festival scheduled for October 2020. Our main considerations included not wanting to put the garden visitors, volunteers and garden owners at risk.... Also, in the knowledge that it generally takes garden owners many months to prepare a Festival garden, a decision to proceed had to be made sooner rather than later. We plan to make our 2021 Festival a wonderful celebration for all garden lovers and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to the upper Blue Mountains to enjoy our beautiful gardens and a return to a safe and healthy world. The 2021 Festival will be held over two long weekends: Saturday, 2 October to Monday, 4 October and Friday, 8 October to Sunday, 10 October Information is available on the Festival website at www.leuragardensfestival.com.au or call 0431 095 279.

22.01.2022 Members of the Leura Gardens Festival Committee were delighted to attend the Official Opening of the Blue Mts District Anzac Memorial Hospital Allied Health Gym and Outpatients Area. These two important facilities within our hospital have recently had major refurbishments thanks to funding provided through recent Leura Gardens Festivals. Pictured here is Festival President, Brooke Broughton with the Kay Hyman, Chief Executive of the Nepean Blue Mts Local Health District.

18.01.2022 News of the cancellation of the 2020 Festival is in the latest issue of the Blue Mountains Gazette. Along with this sad news is the great news that following a meeting with senior managers at the Blue Mountains District Anzac Memorial Hospital, the Festival Committee has agreed to fund two major projects with over $350,000 raised from previous years' festivals. The first project is the total refurbishment and upgrading of the Allied Health Centre which is an area for rehabil...itation and treatment of hospital patients and outpatients. The second project will see the installation of a pneumatic tube system to speed delivery of samples from the Emergency Department to Pathology, which will facilitate a speedy return of results. Work is planned to commence in the coming weeks. https://www.bluemountainsgazette.com.au//leura-gardens-f/

10.01.2022 Its beginning to feel a lot like Christmas in Leura and our friends at the Leura Village Association have a big night planned for Friday 18 December from 4-9 pm in Leura Mall. You can meet socially-distanced Santa roaming the Mall, make a wish at the giant Christmas tree, watch the Children’s Lantern Parade light up the street; join the Pooch Parade; enjoy pop-up performances from the Blue Mountains City Band and the Vocalocity choir. Shop til you drop in our fabulous shops and boutiques, then enjoy sensational seasonal specials in Leura’s cafes, bars and restaurants who will be staying up late to celebrate.

09.01.2022 Whilst we remain very sad that we are not able to hold this year's Leura Gardens Festival, we believe this was the most appropriate decision in the circumstances. As a small consolation, in coming weeks we will feature pictures of some Leura gardens and sights to share with you a taste of Spring in the Blue Mountains. Please note that these are private gardens and are not open to the public.

05.01.2022 In addition to the refurbishments of the two centres, funds from the Leura Gardens Festival were used to purchase some items of equipment which would not have been possible otherwise. Shown below are an active/passive bike which can be used by those in wheelchairs and the other is a Rejoyce Workstation which is a special computer game designed to assist and encourage patients with repetitive practice. Although not located within these two facilities another equipment project which was funded by the Festival was the installation of a pneumatic tube system between the Emergency Department and Pathology to enable the much faster processing of blood tests.

05.01.2022 Some more pictures of wonderful Leura Gardens.

05.01.2022 Just confirming that there will be no Festival in 2020 but do save the date for next year - 2-4 October AND 8-10 October 2021. In the meantime enjoy our spring time garden pictures.
