Cross Country training will run on Wed 28/4 as normal however *** PARENTS Pls wear your masks at drop off & pick up & wait in your cars during the session as spectators are not permitted this week ***... Wed weekly training details: > Arrive at 4.20pm for a 4.30pm prompt start > At Piney Lakes Reserve (grass area adjacent to Murdoch Drive entry/carpark) Coach Jenna will run the U7s-U10s session Coach Ross will run the U11+ session New Mon Weekly Sessions (starting 3/5): > Arrive at 4.20pm for a 4.30pm prompt start > At Piney Lakes Reserve Coach Ross will run the session (U7+) NB This will be a shorter session as race distance time trials only Pls note all participants MUST be Melville athletes who have registered for the Winter Season

In preparation for the new Summer Season there's lots of planning and organising going on behind the scenes & we'd like to continue improving what we can offer to our members. In order to achieve this we urgently need to fill the remaining Centre roles. The following positions are currently vacant:... - Canteen Manager This is an Exec Committee position and responsible for managing and running the canteen during our competition days - Seniors Manager This is an Exec Committee position and responsible for supporting our senior athletes who participate in the Go for 2 and 5 competitions - First Aid Officer Responsible for managing our first aid supplies and service during our competition days These roles are all crucial to the successful running of our Centre and support of our athletes so please dont delay or be shy in coming forward if you can assist and are interested in filling one of these roles. Full training & support will be available as individuals who have previously been in these roles are still active in our Centre. 24.01.2022 Just a reminder that this Saturday is the first Cross Country run for 2020! It will be held at Lake Gwelup Reserve with the first race commencing at 1pm. All athletes must wear their age badge, registration number and Coles badge. This season athletes of all ages will be permitted to wear their club singlet if they do not have a Melville singlet.... 22.01.2022 We are happy to announce that cross country training will begin on Wednesday 8th July at Piney Lakes. Athletes will be required to be signed in prior to each session starting - please arrive at 4.15pm each week to facilitate this. Training will then run from 4.30pm - 5.30pm. Please bring a water bottle and a jumper. ... The winter season will commence on 4th July, with a road walking event and the first cross country event will be held on 25th July. You will have received an email from Athletics West with full details of how this modified season will run. We would encourage you to read it thoroughly as you will need to register in advance for EACH event should you wish to compete.

NOMINATIONS CLOSE TONIGHT @11.59pm Entry is open to Little Athletics Members in the Under 11 - Under 17 age groups. Please note this is a combined events competition, meaning athletes need to compete in all events. Competition events will be held as prescribed by the Athletics West Little Athletics Program Rules of Competition. Please note this event will be utilising a Call Room for all athletes. 21.01.2022 2020 WA STATE CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS SUNDAY 16 AUGUST 2020 7.30AM - 1.30PM KINGS PARK, PERTH... We are excited to announce the 2020 WA State Cross Country Championships, traditionally held at Alderbury Reserve, are set for a change of venue for 2020. The Championships award the State cross country titles for open and age-group events for both able-bodied and para athletes, and act as the selection event for the WA State Team for the 2020 Australian Cross Country Championships. The course provides a new challenge to runners at any level, with the picturesque trails of Kings Park offering mixed surfaces in a hilly loop with an open, down-hill finish setting the scene for thrilling end to each event. The course is spectator-friendly, and finished in the family friendly May Drive Parklands, where our finishers will be recognised and medals awarded. Entries are now open, with age-group, open, para and new all-comers races offering races for participants of all ages and abilities. 18.01.2022 2020 Australian Track & Field Championships The Australian Track and Field Championships will take place at the Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre in Homebush, NSW, from 21 - 29 March, 2020. The Championships will see Under 15 through to Under 18 competition from 21 - 24 March, while the Under 14, Under 20, and Open age groups will compete from 26 - 29 March (with the exception of the Open 1500m which will begin preliminary rounds on 24 March). ... Athlete entries will close at 11.59pm, Sunday 1 March and nominations can be lodged via the Australian Championships tab (under Participate on our website) or via the direct link HERE. WINTER MANAGER Vacant Committee Position With Winter Season competitions commencing soon, in order to support our athletes, we’re keen to fill our vacant Winter Manager position ASAP.... This is an Executive Committee position that liaises with Athletics West (AW) to support our athletes competing in the Winter Season. As the position is currently vacant we have already advised AW that Melville will not be hosting any events this year so the role involves simply supporting our members (responding to general winter queries) & distributing information ie a very valuable yet simple role for anyone who has participated in the Winter Season. Handover will be provided by our outgoing Winter Manager & ongoing support from the Executive Committee. We would appreciate a parent/family stepping up to fill this position so that we can continue to support our Winter athletes. Athletics Australia have taken the decision to cancel t...he 2020 Australian Junior (U14-U18) Track & Field Championships, which will not be re-scheduled and have postponed the 2020 Australian Senior (U20, Open and Para) Track & Field Championships to a date or dates to be determined. With the current threat of coronavirus impacting the health and welfare of Australians, Athletics Australia has today taken guidance from the Australian & State Governments (COAG) and other health authorities.
