24.01.2022 The year’s program for our friends, The Maroondah Symphony Orchestra.

23.01.2022 Good to see Greg Hocking, friend and occasional conductor of Singularity Choir, recognised for his latest contribution to musical life in Melbourne.

21.01.2022 Our Gilbert and Sullivan season opens very early this year. At 2pm on March 21st, a small group of Singularity singers will perform extracts from The Mikado, accompanied by the Dandenong Ranges Orchestra, at the opening of the DRMC’s new Education Hub, on the Upwey High School campus.

21.01.2022 Cecily Woodberry, Singularity's Musical Director, has trained in England and at the Conservatorium of Melbourne. She has performed as a soloist and ensemble member in Operas, most recently with Melbourne Opera Company, and on the concert stage. Under Cecily's leadership, the choir has balanced an open welcoming atmosphere with a high standard of musicianship and has taken on many challenges, performing both traditional and new music. This includes working with Melbourne organist and composer, Calvin Bowman and with a range of other orchestras and choirs.

18.01.2022 More than 350 current and former Australian university choir singers, aged from teens to seventies, combined to produce Laudate in the Lounge, the ‘Biggest Laudate* Ever’. Some familiar Singularity faces for those who look closely : Cecily, David, Robyna, Steve and Lucas, who put the sound track together. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqapfQ222VI

17.01.2022 If 2020 was a key signature:

14.01.2022 Eddie was also our Bass soloist when we sang the Verdi Requiem this year.

12.01.2022 Singularity choristers have been sharing together/apart rehearsals where we learn new music in the hope of one day putting it together... really together. In this piece of writing a Choir Director shares her grief. https://jennyshouldblog.wordpress.com//the-tears-of-the-/

11.01.2022 A way to keep supporting performing arts in Melbourne so that we still have some left....

04.01.2022 Melbourne Opera doing their bit.

04.01.2022 Happy Christmas to everyone.

04.01.2022 Like most groups, Singularity is taking a break for a while, to do our bit to flatten the curve and to keep each other safe. We are hoping that most of our Mikado performances can still go ahead, possibly rescheduled.

03.01.2022 Singularity have had the pleasure of experiencing a number of different conductors over the last few years. When we finally get to sing this amazing piece of music, we can watch the conductor with new understanding.
