17.01.2022 Heres an interview just after our first session which will be live tomorrow night We need to hear stories like Byren Sawell because in under 48 hours his whole ...life has been turned up side down. The scary part is he is not an outlier, this is a common thing in the music community, we are here to help spread awareness and help them as much as we can! We want to promote the hashtag #allinthistogether JB Creative Studio b. 13.01.2022 Dashville seems to always find a way

11.01.2022 Hey guys! Im asking for your help So as you know Covid has completely decimated the arts indistry. Seeing the writing on the wall I was quick to pair with Studi...o B in order to create the @fromadistancesessions It has been such an amazing experience. What you might not know is that we have donated atleast 150 hours of our time and thousands of dollars each in order to keep the project going. Pulling 12 hour days for free, we have had so many amazing performers come through and it's great to see they variety of talent newy has to offer. We have made exactly 0 dollars out if the FAD projects and we are more than happy to keep this going as long as we possibly can So now is the hard part. With my industry still not coming back I am in need of work very soon. Job keeper is keeping me afloat for now but I'm afraid it's still only enough to cover my living expenses and bills So now I'm asking for a favour in return. I'm keen to get back out into the community and shoot some music videos for artists. I'm asking for people to share this post and in kind hoping to get some work in return. This doesn't have to be limited to music videos, this can be anything you'd like. I'm happy to offer my services for half price until the world comes back to normal Appreciate you all and I'll see you at the next FAD session flick me an email at [email protected]

10.01.2022 This is important: we've had reports that certain venues are sending out emails and other messages asking musicians to play for free. This is not on. While ever...yone is struggling to get through the crisis and all attempts to get music and businesses up and running again are welcome, we have to make the point that musicians need to be treated the same as all workers: if a venue is opening, serving drinks and food, they'll be paying staff. If they also want to put on safe gigs, the musicians deserve to be paid a fair fee. Musicians Australia members have a simple and fair plan to fix the music industry: fees for all gigs; make gigs safe; and no undercutting. www.musiciansaustralia.org.au

08.01.2022 This is our opportunity to rebuild the music industry on our terms. As restrictions ease, musicians are being asked to play gigs at rock-bottom rates in unsaf...e working conditions. Let’s get one thing straight: if a venue is opening, and serving drinks and food, they'll be paying staff and ensuring compliance with Work Health and Safety laws. If they also want to put on gigs, the musicians that play those gigs also deserve to be safe and paid a fair fee. The ‘SAFE GIGS’ framework launched by Musicians Australia members across the country tonight will ensure that musicians are safe at gigs, and won’t be ripped-off in the process. Join the campaign now https://musiciansaustralia.org.au/ ------------------- Musicians Australia Members in order of their appearance: Xani Kolac Professional Violinist, Singer/Songwriter Carl Polke Professional Musician, Composer, Sound-Designer and Producer. 07.01.2022 $250million for the Arts & Entertainment industry to be used at the TOP END of the industry? What a joke! The music industry starts at school level, followed by... garage bands, followed by unpaid gigs, followed by local gigs followed, hopefully, by the big time - the Top End of the game. People who go out on a regular basis go to local clubs and hotels where they are entertained by the hardest-working musicians on the planet, many of whom set up all the gear for themselves and then perform for rates that don't really cover all the years of hard work, practice and sacrifices they made to perfect their craft. Those at the top end of the scale probably have enough money to cover several years of lockdown - you won't see Guy Sebastian, Delta Goodrem and countless other stars in the Centrelink queue. At the other end of the scale you have the local entertainers who are just as important in the role they play in keeping people entertained. Many of them have not been able to get help from the government and are suffering both mentally and physically, not knowing where their next meal will come from. The government has got this wrong. Superstars and production companies don't deserve financial support over the grass-roots level musicians and other entertainers. Easy fix - contact all the pubs, clubs and agents who service the local music industry, compile a list of all the bands and musicians that work in it and distribute the $250million to the part of the industry hardest hit by the Covi-19 lockdown. If enough people share my thoughts on this, maybe the message will get through to the government.
