25.01.2022 Covid has hit these street boys of Kawangware hard and we continue to support them as best we can during this time. Able to make a little from scouring the rubbish heaps, bulldozers are clearing away most of these heaps leaving the boys diminished opportunities to help themselves. 21.01.2022 Darkness was falling as the police surrounded the building. The sounds coming from within suggested that at least four intruders were inside. A tear gas canister was thrown. The wind catching the spreading gas blew back onto those outside stinging their eyes and throats. Shots rang out. The police returned fire............ Sounds like the plot of a B grade movie. But no! This was the compound of our beloved school in Waithaka on Thursday evening. Thieves had been foun...d attempting to steal the wiring from the school buildings. They almost succeeded but escaped empty handed, leaving us with repairs bills we know not how to cover. This virus is not just a health pandemic. As it goes on and on, with no end in sight, crime is rising day by day. Break ins, robberies, muggings! This crisis shows no end to the ways in which it inflicts cruelty and despair on humanity. We are all in this together but just some more than others! NAKUPENDA KENYA. NITARUDI TENA!!

02.01.2022 Epic rock art at Reteti Elephant Sanctuary in Samburu. It was painted by the famous French graffiti artist, Youri Cansell. It is a tribute to the elephants that now call Namunyak home after being almost completely extinct in this area in the 1970s. Kieran Avery #kenyarising
