ONLINE entries are still open until 7:30am tomorrow but late entries kick in tonight so dont delay if you are in two minds. 22.01.2022 G'day my fellow runners and welcome to 2021. Let's hope it's a better year than 2020 right? Its been a while since I've posted and that's because we've been watching COVID and its restrictions, thankfully I believe we're almost in the clear and we can soldier on. I'm pleased to announce that 2021 will see our normal round of events, and super excited to announce the addition of a brand new event in Mandurah. ... We had hoped to bring this to you last year but foreshore developments in Mandurah forced us to push it back unfortunately. We are hoping to launch Mandurah in July/August.. (foreshore completion pending). Stay tuned for more info on this. With four events it means that we need to juggle the calendar a little and we will announce the dates soon, but expect to be racing as early as the end of Feb, with a full program right through to October. Champions and the Go-Getta challenge will be back and up for grabs. One thing that will be different is the introduction of some twilight events, getting away from the tradition Sunday morning heave out of bed, for a more relaxed Saturday twilight gathering. All day Saturday to do the shopping, AND a lie in on Sunday to recover....its Win/Win. Let me know how you feel about this, we're really excited to shake things up a little. 21.01.2022 Gday me fellow runners... Im delighted to advise that as of today, ALL race distances at Busselton are now AIMS and IAAF certified. This means that the event can be used to qualify for other major events like the Berlin Marathon, Boston Marathon, London Marathon etc... and with Busso being a super flat and fast course its an ideal event if you are looking for a qualifying time.... Three weeks to go and planning is well underway for September and we are really looking forward to a strong presence from some of WAs top athletes. 20.01.2022 Gday me fellow runners... whos getting excited for Champs this weekend, ONLY 3 SLEEPS!! By now you should have received your eTicket in your email showing your race number. Please ensure you bring this with you on Sunday, either as a print out or on your phone. Without this we cant issue you with a timing bib. There is also a link to the event information page, please familiarise yourself with all the details of the day, especially race start times.... As per the recent newsletter, bibs will be available for collection from 7am (no earlier please). The registration area is the office at the base of the the tall control tower, right next to the finish line. See attached picture. You are reminded that the 2sqrm rule will be in place and we ask that you adhere to this wherever possible. OK racers... thats it from me, see you all on Sunday Wilko

20.01.2022 Gday me fellow runners.... I hope youre ready to RACE!!! I am delighted to announce that our Champion Lakes event will go ahead as planned on the 19th of July and really looking forward to getting back to normal and seeing you all racing again. Online entries are now open. Time is of the essence here so please register ASAP to help us plan for a great day.... We are trying desperately to have medals available for the event but given the time frame this may not be achievable due to production and shipping times. Ill keep you posted regarding this. On the flip side, we do have the crystal trophies for place getters already, as these were ordered prior to Covid shutting the world down. The lifting of restrictions also means Busselton will go ahead as planned on the 20th of September which is great news and entries are open now. We are still working on a new date for the previously postponed Rockingham event and will advise once that is known. For those wishing to transfer their entry from Rockingham to Champion Lakes, please drop me a line and Ill arrange for you. 19.01.2022 Gday me fellow runners... some important info below for those of you doing Busselton next weekend. Please pay particular attention to the start point outside the Goose and the loop path, this is the path you take to start your 2nd lap for half/full mara runners. The red line is the path to the finish chute at the end of your race. Suggestion, dont follow the loop if you are doing the 5km or 10km just head straight for the finish.... If you are looking to place your own nutrition on the aid stations then you will need to arrange this prior to event start. Clearly mark your bottles with a ribbon or marker to avoid confusion/congestion at the aid station. As always drop me a line if you have any questions, Ill try to be as responsive as possible. We are hoping that all you wonderful people will pull together to help us out. Either by volunteering yourself or asking your circle of family and friends to help.... 17.01.2022 G’day me fellow runners... Quick update on race bibs as I’ve had a few inquiries. If you entered prior to last Monday then your bib has been sent, otherwise collect on race day. There is an exception for a few half marathon bibs that were not available due to delays at the printers, these will be available race morning. You will receive an e-ticket once we’ve allocated your number.... If you have received an e-ticket with your bib number but haven’t received your bib in the mail then you most likely missed the cut off for mail delivery. If you haven’t received an e-ticket in your email (check you junk/spam folder) then it’s likely your bib was not available at this time but will be available on race morning. These are mainly half marathon bibs. Apologies for inconvenience. I will be sending out an update on the event to all entrants via email soon so please hold your question until after you have received and read the update. Thanks heaps guys... not long to go... 14.01.2022 Gday me fellow runners. A few of you have bought photos (thank you) but have advised that the watermark is still in place when you receive your download, which shouldnt happen. Ive spoken to the software team and apparently this is an intermittent bug that they are working to fix. They have given me a work around but it appears it has disabled the option to purchase images. I currently have the software team looking into the problem and hope to have it fixed soon.... Apologies for the delay, and frustration... we had hoped they would be here in time for the events but sadly COVID delays hit.... The good news is the medals arrived late this week and the plan is to get them out to those who missed out over the weekend. All being well you will have them in hand towards the end of next week. This means some of the race numbers that have been allocated via the eTicket wont be available on Sunday at Champion Lakes. Thankfully our timing guys have provided us with a batch of bibs to use and timing will be recorded as normal.... Tonight I will be reallocating race/bib numbers to include the new bibs, and quarantine the MIA bibs. This means you may receive a new eTicket with a new number. If you do, please delete the original eTicket you received and refer to the new eTicket when collecting your number on Sunday. Apologies for the inconvenience. Unfortunately we are governed by the mass participation restrictions currently in place due to COVID-19 and unable to guarantee these events will proceed as scheduled until further relaxations are advised by our state government. ...
