24.01.2022 NSW Taxi. Info found with this photo online stated "1988" I checked the NSW number plate issues and found this to be a valid Taxi format plate and "The Premier ...State" series were released in 1983 which would suggest that is the correct year of the photo. That series was replaced by NSW "The First State" in 1990. See more

BURWOOD ROAD MELB. 1956 A crowd watch ‘Puffing Billy’ cross Burwood Road, in Melbourne’s east, including the occupants of an FJ (or FX 4...8-215) Holden Utility - with what looks like a home-made tradesman’s canopy. Puffing Billy is a narrow gauge (2ft 6in) heritage railway that operates in Melbourne’s Dandenong Ranges. (Weston Langford photo)

07.01.2022 #FlashbackFriday View of Liverpool Road, Ashfield from Hercules Street, 1956. The Woolworths shown in this picture relocated to Ashfield Mall, likely when the M...all opened in the 1980s. Tek's Gifts & Things, a large discount store, operated in its place for many years. In the 2010s, the area underwent mixed-use development. 07.01.2022 Thanks for your answers all. This car is the very first Holden ever built. It was constructed in Detroit as a prototype. All metal panels are hand formed and b...eaten into shape. The vehicle was restored over seven years and is insured for over 1 million bucks! The compliance plate pictured is evidence that the car is Number 1. The signatures in gold pen are of the engineers who built the car. What a beauty!

01.01.2022 My wife has been watching old episodes of A Country Practice. (I have been an innocent bystander, obviously). However, Brendan, the nurse, had an FJ! Who remembered.

01.01.2022 With General Motors announcement last February to retire the Holden brand, after 92 years with General Motors and 72 years with Holden, the GM-Holden signs are ...coming down from F Gaukroger and Sons, Inverell. Given that announcement, F Gaukroger and Sons have chosen to Go their own way in 2021. So, it is with fond memories of our past together with excitement and anticipation for our future that we plan on giving Holden the farewell it deserves in Inverell. F Gaukroger and Sons will host Holden’s farewell on Saturday the 19th of September. All past and present Holden owners are invited to attend this final hurrah for Holden. In fact, we NEED you to play a part in it. We will be looking for Holdens from every era of it’s past 72 years from 1948 until today. We’d love you and your car to be involved! Start polishing up the old girl and be sure to contact us and let us know you’re coming. More details to follow!
