24.01.2022 One day recently, one of our carers entered this lady's home and found a smoke-filled kitchen. This was due to a faulty toaster. What became apparent to the coordinator, and the carers, was that this lady did not have functioning smoke alarms, and,... enough smoke alarms in her home. One of our carers took her shopping so that she could buy some smoke alarms (before the current COVID-19 lock-down restrictions!). Then came the tricky part. Installing them. We enlisted the help of the local fire service. I think our client looks super happy with the outcome. Do you think she looks happy? See more

23.01.2022 Lots of people are concerned and asking questions of the latest round of measures re COVID-19. Is it just hysteria? Why are they doing this? Governments are reacting with this vigour for 2 reasons. The first is that we have to appreciate the limited number of hospital beds we have to deal with a health crisis of any kind. The aim of these government measures ISNT to cause panic. Its about making sure the number of ill people doesnt exceed the resources available to help t...hem. If everyone gets sick with COVID-19 at the same time then the strain on hospitals will become a real problem. See graph for details. The second is that we still dont have a cure specific to COVID-19. This does not mean sick people will not get well. But it does increase the time required to treat a patient with other less specific medications. All you need is common sense! Wash your hands, avoid overseas travel, be aware of any symptoms and dont be afraid to get yourself checked.
