16.01.2022 When buying a new horse, a so called good loader does not necessarily mean it is. Nor is it always the truth. Especially, if it has only been trucked. Watch as this horse, a serious rearer, is transformed. Whilst training, I use a dressage whip, it is not used to beat the horse. It is an extension of the arm to direct pressure towards to hip of the horse, indicating that it should move forward. Regardless, this horse had developed a habit, in its past life, of rearing when asked to move forward. Anyway, it all ended well and Rebecca has a new, willing horse! Yee Ha!

08.01.2022 Groundwork exercises for response and control. This is at the basic level stage but even at this level, fantastic for getting your horse focused, concentrating and working with you, before you ride. Also great to use if you have a problem loader before retraining. This is the owners first attempt at the exercise and going splendidly. We started the horse loading training (see yesterdays video post) with this and 2 other groundwork exercises. Not important to do before each load but it taught the horse what was expected before commencing the retraining for the truck loading.
