22.01.2022 Extension of JobKeeper Government announces changes to JobKeeper and JobSeeker The Government has announced a number of changes to the JobKeeper and JobSeeker payments. Both payments have been extended to run into 2021, with a number of changes made to eligibility rules and payment arrangements.... JobKeeper changes The changes to JobKeeper include: extending the scheme until 28 March 2021 introducing a tiered payment approach depending on employment hours reducing the amount of the payment in two stages, and eligible employers to continue to meet the decline in turnover test. The Government has announced a number of changes to the JobKeeper and JobSeeker payments. Both payments have been extended to run into 2021, with a number of changes made to eligibility rules and payment arrangements. JobSeeker changes The changes to JobSeeker include: increasing the income free area for the income test, as well as increasing the taper rate for the partner income test extending payment of the Coronavirus supplement to 31 December 2020 reducing the amount of Coronavirus supplement payable reintroducing mutual job obligations, and reintroducing the assets test and liquid assets waiting period from 25 September 2020. Relaxed eligibility rules for certain applicants and waiving of the ordinary waiting period have also been extended.

Remember the requirements for early super release apply: ONE of the following circumstances must apply: - You are unemployed... You are eligible to receive one of the following: - JobSeeker payment - Youth Allowance for job seekers - Parenting payment - Special Benefit - Farm Household Allowance on or after 1 January 2020 either: - you were made redundant - your working hours were reduced by 20% or more (including to zero) - you were a sole trader and your business was suspended or there was a reduction in turnover of 20% or more (partners in a partnership are not eligible unless the partner satisfies any other of the eligibility). 01.01.2022 The JobKeeper scheme has now passed the halfway point of its planned operation. It is due to end on 27 September 2020. The Federal Government will address the J...obKeeper scheme and any other potential income support on 23 July 2020 as part of its economic and fiscal update. We’d like to hear what you, our members, think about the JobKeeper scheme ending. In particular, we want to know if your business clients who receive JobKeeper will be able to continue with their usual business when JobKeeper ends.
