25.01.2022 We are raffling off this 90 x 60cm framed photograph of mother nature battling with Nobbys Break wall. 100 percent of all money raised will go to the awesome local charity Nova For Women & Children. The crew at Nova work tirelessly to help Mothers & their Children escape domestic violence. The Covid pandemic has caused a HUGE rise in domestic violence. This is due to increased time spent at home, financial stresses, increased substance abuse & more. Three Scary Facts:... 1- Everyday, 8 women are hospitalised with critical injuries inflicted by their partner. 2- One in Four children are exposed to domestic violence. 3- Seven women were killed in Seven weeks during lockdown. 20.01.2022 Below is the booking form for our classes starting back up on Monday 11th January 2021. We are STILL limiting our class sizes due to current restrictions. This booking options form is the fairest way, we believe to give the majority of people a chance to train at a suitable time for them. With that in mind, the more options you put down, the better opportunity you will have to join in on our classes. We will be going through submissions tomorrow so we can allocate spots ASA...P, to be organised for our classes to start in 10 days time! Please read all the information on the booking form as it will probably answer any your questions. 17.01.2022 Happy Monday Champions!! Our Nova For Women & Children fundraiser has only 6 days remaining! Our goal is to raise $2500, for this much needed charity. 100% of all money raised will go to Nova. We are currently $950 short of our total. But we know with your generous support we will make it. We 1st raised / donated money to Nova in 2018. Our 1st meeting with Nova's CEO Kelly was a HUGE eye opener for us. Most of us don't understand how good we have it ( Me included). Just list...en to Kelly talk about her 1st hand experience with helping victims of domestic violence. You will then understand how lucky we are to live in a safe environment, & I truly believe that we all deserve to do this. 14.01.2022 What a crazy F@#king year!! It was hard but... we made it to the end because of your support! Thank you to everyone that supported us. Having zero income but still having bills to pay was super scary. But then we switched our business to online & all of you champions jumped onboard! Your support helped us pay bills, live life & have a gym to reopen after lockdown!! Yes it was a challenge but, we all found out that we’re tougher then we thought!! Brett also trains hard, helps out the new members & is a pleasure to have in the gym. We are happy that although his life is very busy, he still fits in boxing with us 3 x a week! ... 09.01.2022 Below is the form for our next 7 week block - MON 2ND NOVEMBER - FRI 18TH DECEMBER! (Please do not fill it out more than once ) WE ARE ADDING MORE CLASSES if the demand is there so tell your mates! ... This is for ALL CURRENT MEMBERS & those wanting to get involved with our classes that may or may not have been to our gym before. We are booking people into classes, this time in 7 week block as we are coming up to our Xmas / New Year Break (& during this period when we need to consider smaller class sizes.) You will need to fill out a new form FOR EVERY BLOCK as things may change each time - this is the best way we can allocate positions fairly AND keep everyone’s preferences in the one spot so we don’t have to go through different platforms trying to piece together peoples positions. 09.01.2022 Hi Champions, as you know we are fundraising for the awesome charity at Nova for Women & Children. It's going well, we've raised $1130 since Thursday & we thank-you for your support so far! But other than just raise money, we want to raise awareness about domestic violence. Not all domestic violence is physical. There is non-physical domestic abuse, sometimes known as intimate terrorism or coercive control. It's scary & I didn't realise coercive control existed until I spo...ke to the crew at Nova for Women & Children. The mum (Hannah Clarke) & her 3 kids in the photo are victims of physical violence, their tragic deaths made worldwide headlines. Their lives violently ended after being abducted & set on fire. But Hannah Clarke endured years of non-physical abuse before her death. Here are few examples of non-physical abuse also know as coercive control? - Financial control. - Reading private messages such as phone & social media. - What clothes are worn & how they look. - Restriction of allowing independence, such as obtaining a driver licence. - Tracking were they go, via their mobile phone. Maybe you were already aware of non-physical abuse, I wasn't. 07.01.2022 We MADE it to Christmas It was a testing year, in which we learnt how tough we are!! Everyone had to face challenges that we’ve never faced before & we are all tougher because of that We’d love liked to thank everyone that has supported us this year! We’d especially like to thank all the online members for supporting us , when we were in lockdown! The generosity of the online members helped us survive, pay bills & come out of lockdown ready to open the doors again!! ... 06.01.2022 Fight Camp Announcement We’ve walked the walked many times & we look forward to guiding you through your journey & into the ring. Our Fight Camp program has helped over 150 people jump into the boxing ring. Plus it’s helped us raise over $30,000.00 for local charities. The program is run over 11-weeks. The training will have you mentally & physically ready to compete in a 3x2 minute boxing bout. The training is intense but 100% achievable!!! ... Sign up date ............. As you know it's been a crazy year & Covid has stopped our Boxing events from going ahead. The worst part of that is, it's stopped us raising money for local charities.
