25.01.2022 Well done Ardrossan, you have been awarded Overall Community Project winner, Best Medium Town and Overall Winner for 2018! Mike, Kevin, Dennis, Richard and Marg...ie attended the KESAB awards ceremony for South Australia in Adelaide yesterday on behalf of the community. Earlier in the year we compiled all the information forwarded to us from the sporting and community groups as well as from the Ardrossan Area School and the Ardrossan Community Hospital . The judge was particularly impressed with the Museum and Information Outlet upgrades, the Ardrossan Community and Men's Shed enthusiasm and contribution to the community, Ardrossan Area School projects and the Schools involvement in community projects such as the spray painting of the community toilets by the jetty and the outdoor gym. We are especially appreciative of the work of the Tidy Towns volunteers in Ardrossan. Also included in the submission was the memorial and entry to the hospital and the stormwater infrastructure projects. The judge Alex said "throughout their entry, the spirit, pride and hard work of this community was evident and this makes them a shining example of Sustainable Communities." The Progress Committee would like to thank everyone who contributes to making Ardrossan the great community it is today and congratulate all who worked on compiling this award submission - Mike, Kevin and Margie. 08.01.2022 For our first comp we think overall it was a great success! We loved seeing the jetty full of keen Fisher people. We have plans to go bigger and better next year after the success and feed back we had yesterday. We will have a full list of category winners published in the next day or so. I hope you can all appreciate that this event is entirely run by volunteers that are having a well earned rest today. But here are some photos of the presentation held at Ardrossan Town Square.
