12.01.2022 Axe kick by Hunter Priest. This is an old old photo of course but I wanted to show it to remind everyone how far he's come. I've said this in the past for many many people to hear "Hunter, when you've got your mind on the training you're the best student here, but when you don't, you're the worst". I don't say this to discourage and I certainly don't say it to single him out either, he is exhibits a natural talent for the martial arts, especially Tae Kwon Do, however that can... be a curse as much as it is a blessing; for someone with natural talent, its easy to be slack on your training and still perform quite well, but at the end of the day, this, like everything else, will reward the hard worker, sadly, natural talent can only take you so far. Hard worker vs a natural, at the end of the day, the hard worker will always win, but what most fail to acknowledge, is there's a 3rd option, the hard worker with natural talent. While a very rare breed, the naturally talented hard worker is the type to perform at the top, the elite of the elite; to have the natural ability but not rely on it, and put in the hard work as if the natural talent didn't exist... those are the best of the best.
