25.01.2022 Something to keep in mind when politicians talk about increasing deficits......

24.01.2022 Some useful numbers.... will be calling the Business 1800 number on Monday morming, seeing my application for help for our decimated accommodation business was denied Friday afternoon......

24.01.2022 Here is the clearest explanation so far of what is going on with the Reserve Bank and how the billions of funding are being generated. They are "printing money". The irony is that if you practiced this type of accounting in your own business, you would be committing fraud and be locked up! Well done reporter David Taylor of the ABC. You got it. https://www.abc.net.au//coronavirus-economy-print/12125816

20.01.2022 Anzac Day 2020. Very different but in spite of everything, Australians did not forget. We all lit up the dawn.

20.01.2022 A very good analysis of the NT's appalling financial position. Honestly - the people we elect to government could not run a chook raffle.

19.01.2022 If you are a restraurant business in the NT, maybe you need to read this...... https://www.theaustralian.com.au//63c60a7c4f32d87f3d8c22f0

19.01.2022 Statement by the Reserve Bank this afternoon: "At its meeting today, the Board reaffirmed the targets for the cash rate and the yield on 3-year Australian government bonds of 25 basis points, as well as the other elements of the package announced on 19 March 2020. The coronavirus remains first and foremost a very major public health issue, but it is also having very significant effects on economies and financial systems around the world. Many countries are expected to experie...Continue reading

17.01.2022 This sounds a good idea - tomorrow morning on Vanderlin Drive in the Northern Suburbs in Darwin. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1440089582842231&id=445129855671547

13.01.2022 Unbounded generosity and kindness from Noel and Christine at their business Indian Foods, Groceries and Takeaway at Rapid Creek Shops. .https://www.facebook.com/105600762862844/posts/2864792360276990/

13.01.2022 Face masks should now be compulsory in the NT too.

12.01.2022 A very nice message about local businesses from Her Honour, the Administrator.

11.01.2022 This guy knows what he is talking about. Governments at all levels ignore the fiscal catastrophe at their peril ( and ours). https://www.theaustralian.com.au//92d219430dbcc494cc142b52

11.01.2022 Tonight in the Jingili Water Gardens. Come and enjoy the glorious weather and great music - and it's free! A nice way to de-stress a little and smell the roses?

10.01.2022 Had a bit of a break over Easter. Kept off the chocolates and dropped some home cooking around to friends so that was good for the weight and mental wellness. There is another and maybe yet unrecognised cost to the COVID-19 economic shutdown. Reports are circulating of some Territorians in business who just feel they can't carry the burden any more. The resultant destruction of many businesses is not just the economic cost of losing the owner's vision, wealth and dignity... and the jobs and income of their staff and casuals. There are disturbing stories now of business people committing suicide ( or trying to) as this has become the final straw for many. Most businesses in the NT have been doing it hard now for years and now being shut down or being forced to have business operations heavily restricted, is just the final blow. If you are feeling overwhelmed and sad and feel this is the way out because you feel you have lost everything you have ever worked for, send us a message as you are not alone. There are organisations who can help. We need every Territorian to be there when this is over - as it will be, one day. Here is a great local Facebook page promoting our local businesses: https://www.facebook.com/littlemeansalot/ Also the NT News will advertise your business for free- a heartfelt thanks from our vital Territory micro and small businesses! Just fill in and submit this form: https://www.ntnews.com.au//c2d40ed0b9a10d13ce261efa855e75f9 We must all survive this; the Territory needs us.

06.01.2022 Good morning and Happy Easter to all! Probably not the Easter you were planning at Christmas time but we will all make the best of it anyway. For some light holiday reading, here is an article with some recent history and thoughtful analysis of the pandemic. https://www.aspistrategist.org.au/making-our-own-luck-in-t/

04.01.2022 If you are struggling financially and need a meal for you or your family or friends, our wonderful Nepalese community are offering to deliver to your door. Do not be ashamed to ring the number and ask. What amazing Territorians!

03.01.2022 Have been a bit busy the past week trying to keep it together but came across this video and thought it was interesting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGmuM0FyxAM

02.01.2022 A few things to keep in mind when things are tough........

01.01.2022 This is an interesting article as we all struggle to imagine what the future looks like. https://www.facebook.com/100001877063790/posts/3750025748403290/?sfnsn=mo
