22.01.2022 Merry Christmas from all the staff and residents at Rose Lodge Christmas can be an exciting time and busy time, full of joy and festivities. There are so many little things we have done to harness the spirit of Christmas and put a smile on the faces of our residents. The month of December included residents making Christmas crafts and card making for the Bass Coast Children’s Centre, decorating the Christmas trees and the facility, staff wearing Christmas shirts, Rudolf antle...rs and bauble earrings, a flow of Christmas carols/singalongs. There were Christmas light tours and a very quiet but beautiful Christmas party with all the trimmings, and we must not forget the best thing of all, Santa’s visit with a special keepsake present for each resident. Christmas is the time to celebrate with your loved ones Have a fabulous festive season and bright and happy New Year

20.01.2022 Residential and Aged Care Facilities New Directions and Update: The pandemic is not over, and we need to ensure we continue a range of practices to help protect our aged care residents. Outlined below are the changes and how you can help keep residents safe. 1. Visitors and staff must sign the COVID 19 screening declaration on entering.... 2. Visitors and staff must have their temperature checked and must not be over 37.5 degrees Celsius. 3. Visitors and staff must wear face masks at all times. 4. There is now no limits on the number, reason or duration of visits. 5. Density limits do apply in common areas used by staff, visitors and residents. 6. In dual visitor/resident areas, the number of people that can enter must comply with density limits. This means one person per 4 square meters. (6 people in the café or 40 people in the upper activity room) 7. Residents may travel in minibus for group outings. Encourage driving with windows down to aid ventilation. 8. Residents can leave Rose Lodge for any reason. They must maintain physical distancing, wear a mask, not visit people who are unwell. 9. Visitors are still encouraged to make appointments with reception to help contact tracing. 10. Enter and exit via Baillieu Street remains in place. 11. Doors remain locked to monitor movement for contact tracing. We wish everyone a lovely weekend and stay safe.

16.01.2022 New Health Department regulations from 21/12/2020. Retain records of all visitors All Victorian residential aged care facilities must keep a record of people who work at or visit the facility and the date and time of that visit. Visitor records need to be kept for 28 days from the day of entry. The following details need to be recorded: the contact details of the person the date and time each person entered and left the care facility - the free Victorian QR Code service ...is available online to help keep records.. the person’s answers to the declaration questions (see Entering the facility above) temperature screening outcome (if temperature check conducted). Returning from an outing When a resident returns from an outing, they will be screened like any other person entering the facility, for example, having their temperature checked. When residents return it is important that: they wash their hands or use alcohol-based hand sanitiser before they enter the facility staff wipe down walkers and wheelchairs with two in one detergent and disinfectant wipes the usual screening of the person escorting the resident back to the facility occurs. Festive Dining Use plated or boxed meals rather than shared platters. Do not provide any self-serve buffets, grazing/share plates or self-serve drinks stations. Ensure communal dining areas don’t exceed a density limit of one person per 2 square metres. Physical distancing of at least 1.5 metres between family groups. Visitors should remove masks only for the time it takes to eat. Consider use of outdoor dining areas, where available. Consider scheduling functions for different groups on different days/times. Family groups can meet where the facility has the space to accommodate such groups in line with its COVIDsafe plan. This includes regular cleaning, seating arrangements and separate groupings, hand sanitiser stations and scheduling of groups. All visitors over 12 years of age must wear a face mask unless they have a lawful exemption. Both Karen and I would like to thank everyone for being so understanding of some of the measures we have in place to keep residents safe and would like to wish you all a safe Christmas. MAY THINGS IMPROVE SO WE CAN GET BACK TO NORMALITY.
