24.01.2022 AGC Ladies stableford competition today, generously sponsored by Janine Barrett and Heather Painter, saw a very impressive field of 75 tackle the course. Our winner with an excellent score of 42 points was Kerry Steicke. Second, with an equally impressive score of 41 points was Eleanor Stocks, and third on 40 points was Anne Mackay. Wonderful scores all round ladies, congratulations to the winners and place getters, and thank you to Janine and Heather for their valued sponsorship!

21.01.2022 A massive field of top amateur players from all over WA converges into the City of Albany this weekend for the Vancouver Waste Services Albany Classic Golf Event at the Albany Golf Club on Middleton Beach. Getting in some practice before some mild winds set in tomorrow is Paul Hockridge, Andrew Penson and Geoff Belz.

21.01.2022 Ladies day saw the Summer Sun Stroke final proudly and generously sponsored by Marshall Family Law take place today with 63 ladies on course in almost wintery conditions. Our winner today on a count back was Margaret Schroder with a score of nett 71. Second place went to Jan Austin, also on 71, with Lisa Taylor coming home in third with 72. Lisa also took out the gross award with 80 off the stick. The overall winner of the series was Dorothy Laffin, thanks to Narelle Caddy for providing that info Congratulations to all the ladies, well done to the winners and placegetters, and a huge thank you to Marshall Family Law for their generous sponsorship.



19.01.2022 Winners of tonight’s Albany World of Cars Sponsored Twilight Golf was won by Judy Loveridge on 20 sf points and Leeder Homes Kevin Draper on 16 pts.... how does that happen? The Bathroom Decor weekly jackpot was won by Russ Cooper who unfortunately had a prior engagement so jackpots to next Friday.

18.01.2022 Day 2 of the Vancouver Waste Services Albany Classic is under way in good conditions. We have quite possibly the youngest ever competitor in the field, Kortni Houston, at 11 years old was sitting 9th after day 1. Just an example of the amazing talent we have on course this weekend! 18.01.2022 Today, the ladies of the Club, presented a canvas print of then Club Patron Ellen Wauters, opening the Winter Season of the Club in March 2016 to Ellen's husband John in appreciation of the continued support of the Club by the Wauters family. 13.01.2022 Sunday Sweepstakes generously sponsored by Cameron Bergsma and the team at Jaguar Cabling saw a field of 25 ladies and 27 men take to the course in what can be described as testing conditions! The winner for the ladies competition with a great score of 39 points was Sarah Smith, followed by Annette Harbron with 37 points, and Jill Munday with 36 points. The men’s competition was won by Peter Tomlinson with a score of 35 points, followed by David Kerr and Kevin Draper both with scores of 34 points. Special mention goes to Ian Nichols who toiled hard to take out the prestigious Lukas lucky ball, donated each week by Luka Sumich. Congratulations to the winners and all who braved the conditions today, and thank you to Cameron and the team at Jaguar Cabling for their sponsorship.

12.01.2022 Wednesday men’s scroungers, proudly sponsored once again by Craig Anning and the team at Elders Insurance saw some fantastic golf played in great conditions. 109 players took to the course today, with our winner with a very impressive 44 points was Kurt Mckain, with Ross Mearns second on a very good 40 points. Third place went to Rod Adams, with a score of 39 points. Our leading visitor today was Matthew Poultney from Kweda Golf Club with 42 points. For those unsure, Kweda is... about 380km north of Albany, not far from Brookton. Our gross winner today was Greg Stocks with a score of 32 points. Special mention once again to Charles Johnson for taking out the Espresso One voucher. Well played to all who ventured out to the course today, congratulations to Kurt and all placegetters, and once again, our thanks go out to Craig and the team at Elders Insurance for their generous sponsorship. A little windy in the arvo but perfect conditions for the morning players as usual. Al (slicer) Fasolo pictured here did well on 36 pts, got a mention but didn’t win! Sorry Al and terrible pic. 11.01.2022 One of the biggest Saturday fields in years today with 175 hitting off at the AGC thanks to our Sponsor Mark Blyth’s Fine Jewellery store in York St. No surprises over 50 ladies playing and a number of visitors enjoying the course. The weekend got off with a rush following the Many Peaks Cricket Clubs Corporate day friday followed by the Albany World of Cars Twilight Golf challenge won by Kevin Draper and Jan Austin scoring 21 and 20 sf points.This followed by another huge night in the Club lounge headlined by the Clubs new Chef Emma Pellicans and her assistant Trish. Great job girls.

11.01.2022 Albany Volkswagen Twilight Golf today saw Felicity Jeffries win the ladies competition with 18 points. Felicity was also lucky enough to be drawn out for the Bathroom Decor & Tiles Albany Jackpot of $760. Unfortunately Felicity had a prior engagement and wasn’t there to collect so we jackpot next Friday to $780! Thanks go to both Albany Volkswagen and Bathroom Decor and Tiles Albany for their wonderful sponsorship! Our men’s winner was Brian Bowman also with a score of 18 points!

05.01.2022 AGC Saturday competition saw an incredible field of 151 take to the course (seems some were scared off by the threat of thunderstorms!). Both the men’s and ladies competitions were generously sponsored by Mark Blyth Fine Jewellery. The men’s competition saw 110 players, the winner on an outstanding score of 45 points was Andrew Penson. Second place was decided on a count back, with Paul Murray on 41 points, and an unlucky Dave Garrood third, also on 41 points. The men’s gross winner with 32 points was Greg Stocks. The ladies competition saw 41 players, with Judy Loveridge winning with a very impressive score of 43 points. second went to Sue Burgess with 41 points, and Maree Slynn third with 39 points on a count back. 03.01.2022 Day 1 of the Vancouver Waste Services Albany Classic saw 210 players today, many of whom have travelled far and wide to take on our magnificent course. Of the 172 men, our own Jason Spinks has banked the best round of the day with a 68 off the stick. In the Schweppes men’s senior classic, Paul Chappell from Hartfield Country Club has the day 1 lead with 73. In the ladies category, of the 38 players, Marion Nelson from Denmark Country Club finds herself leading all comers in both categories with a score of 76. Tomorrow will be a huge day, with some great scoring expected! Good luck to all competitors.
