23.01.2022 I have created a guide to help you become a high achiever and focus on reaching your goals. I call this guide the Criteria of Achievement. I have previously introduced you to the first three criteria. Here is the fourth criteria: Treat others better than you would like to be treated You become the best by delivering more value than anyone else. This criterion helps me set a benchmark when I'm coaching someone. I imagine what I would expect from the best coach in the worl...d and then I set about over delivering on that. This thought process provides an energy and a drive that makes coaching so enjoyable. If you set mediocre standards for yourself and your services, you fall into the trap of only doing what's necessary. It can then become difficult to motivate yourself to take action and procrastination can set in. Drop a if you’re treating others better than you would like to be treated. 23.01.2022 You might feel as though you have to stay positive all the time, that you are not allowed to feel painful emotions. Whether that is to stay strong for yourself or for your family and friends. But people are dealing with real shit right now, they’re losing their jobs, their businesses or even their homes. Even though positivity is essential, we can’t ignore our painful emotions or just push them away. When you don’t deal with your emotions effectively, they stay trapped insid...e of you. How do you deal with your painful emotions? Share your ideas below so we can help each other. If you'd like to learn more on how to cope with your emotions effectively click on the link in the comments to read my article How To Deal With Your Emotions During COVID19.
22.01.2022 A very important rule in life is: if you're going to do something, play full-out! When you play full-out, it means that you are fully engaged in what you are doing. Success and fulfilment in life demand our presence. We need to apply our full attention to the moment that currently exists so that we can create the future we desire. When we are playing full-out, we focus our attention on the current moment and the task at hand, creating the presence we need to shape the futur...e. If you can't enjoy what you are doing your mind is going to look for other things to do. It's going to look for shortcuts to get shit done, and shortcuts lead to poor results. When we don't get the desired results, we end up having to do even more in less time. Doing your taxes is a great example. Many hire a tax expert so they can avoid the mental strain of dealing with their taxes. Consequently, they fail to educate themselves on the opportunities that are out there, leaving them vulnerable. If you play full-out with your taxes, you can educate yourself enough to work in partnership with a tax advisor to get the best result instead of hiring a tax advisor and not knowing for what you are paying them. Drop a if you are playing full-out! Be sure to read on about playing full-out in my article Develop The Beliefs And Skills You Need To Live In The Zone! The link is in the bio! 20.01.2022 It's hard to find the words to describe how challenging 2020 has been. The longer the COVID19 pandemic continues, the harder it is to stay optimistic. With unemployment reaching record levels and the world heading into a recession, it's more important than ever that we remain positive about the future. I'm sure that you might feel like that's a hard thing to do right now. Henry Ford said, "Whether you think you can, or you think you can't--you're right." Positive thinking is...n't just something you do to stay motivated; it's the foundation of creating a better world. If you believe that you can make a difference, you will take a hell of a lot more action than if you don't. Developing an optimistic mindset is critical to staying positive but only focusing on mindset to promote positivity is like trying to grow a plant but only ensuring it has water. The plant might not be growing because it doesn't get enough sun or it isn't getting the right nutrients from the soil. But because you think that the solution is more water, you end up drowning the plant. Developing a positive, resourceful attitude requires more than just the right mindset. Drop a if you’re already optimistic about having the right mindset? 16.01.2022 Time to cop the mop before it's out of control. It reminds me that change is inevitable, and if we don't take charge of our life, we might not get the change we want.
13.01.2022 We all know someone that has a skill such as drawing, singing or writing that unfortunately also has a cynical belief programme that says "I'm not talented enough to do that". Cynical programmes are a mixture of thoughts such as I'm not good enough or That will never work out for me. These cynical programmes stop you from getting into the flow state and becoming a master in an area of your life. Make a list of your cynical belief programmes. Can you see how these progra...mmes have prevented you from getting into that desired flow state? Get a sense of how cynical belief programmes hold you back from living life in the zone so you can get motivated to hack them, to rewrite them. Click on the link in the comments to find out more in my article Develop The Beliefs And Skills You Need To Live In The Zone. We can work on your cynical belief programmes together! Send me a DM!
13.01.2022 What we think about ourselves ultimately determines what we will achieve. If we believe that we will never be able to run our own business, we won't put the effort into achieving that goal. It won't matter that we have developed skills that allow us to perform at the highest level in running a business because we'll never apply them. Click on the link in the comments to find out more in my article Develop The Beliefs And Skills You Need To Live In The Zone. We can strengthen the good programs and weaken the bad programs! Drop a if your skill and belief programs are strong! Write me a DM if you’d like to strengthen them even more!
10.01.2022 One of my number one rules in life is: if you're going to do something, play full-out! When you play full-out, it means that you are fully engaged in what you are doing. If you want to get more done in less time, then play full-out in everything that you do. Make sure you have reasons for what you do that excite you. When you play full-out, you don't do it for money or fame. You do it for love. Love of who you can become, love of creating something special, of making a diffe...rence and leaving this world in a better state than when you found it. When you tap into your passions and emotions, these can come from either your heart or your head. If you're not playing full-out your head takes over. This will drive procrastination and fear and will cut you off from your creativity. When you struggle to align your passions to your actions, ask yourself "How does this help me grow?", "How does doing a great job at this get me to my goals faster?", "How am I going to be able to grow by taking this action?" or "Is the action that I'm about to take, the most productive use of my time?" When you don't play full-out, you are leaving yourself open to procrastination and fear will drive your actions. This means that you will end up working harder and longer on achieving your goals. When you play full-out, you not only activate your passion but it also quietens the mind and gives you access to the creativity and focus you need to get more done in less time. Drop a if you are playing full-out! Be sure to read on about playing full-out in my article Develop The Beliefs And Skills You Need To Live In The Zone! The link is in the comments! 10.01.2022 One thing that every person that has become a master in an area of their life does is that they have powerful programs that allow them to access the flow state. To be in the flow state or also known as living in the zone means being fully present with what you are trying to achieve at this very moment. So what do I mean when I talk about programs? I can hear you asking yourself Programs are what computers run right, not humans? But if you think about it, we are like compute...rs. We have neural pathways in our brains that store information on how to do something. We have neural pathways in our brains that enable us to spell words for example. Why is it that some people are much better spellers than others? They have a program for spelling that is much better at getting correct spellings from longterm memory to the page or keyboard than people that are terrible spellers. Just like computers, our neural pathways can be programmed to perform complex tasks efficiently. Instead of writing code as we would for a computer, we can use experiences to program our brains. We all have two types of programs that are essential for us to become masters in specific areas of our lives. Click on the link in the comments to find out about the programs in my article Develop The Beliefs And Skills You Need To Live In The Zone. Drop a if you’re aware of the programs that allow you to access your flow state. Write me a DM if you’d like help discovering them! Photo by Martin Sanchez on Unsplash
09.01.2022 To develop positivity that can withstand the challenges that we now face you need to work on your four sources of positivity: Body - fuel and tune your body to provide it with the energy it needs to take action every day Mind - develop the beliefs and ability to focus on the opportunities rather than the problems Heart - harness your emotions and align them with your goals... Soul - be connected to something bigger than yourself and be open to a higher purpose Drop a if you’re already focusing on your four sources of positivity? Click on the link in the comments to read my article How to Stay Positive While Facing the Challenges of Covid19. to find out more about each of the four sources!
09.01.2022 The guide Criteria of Achievement that I have created will help you become a high achiever and focus on reaching your goals. I have previously introduced you to the first four criteria. Here is the fifth criteria: Exhibit grace at all times, especially when experiencing defeat and achievement Grace, in this case, defines the ability to keep your head while everyone around you is losing theirs. It's the ability to stay calm, to not be overcome by your emotions and stay in ...a peak state that enables you to make the right decisions at the right time. Without grace, you become overwhelmed by the scale of what you need to achieve or you become discouraged when you inevitably encounter roadblocks. It is also important to exhibit grace when achieving your goals. Without grace, you become arrogant and take your achievements for granted, rather than being humble and taking the action necessary to build on your success. Drop a if you’re living your life with grace. Click on the link in the comments to find out more in my article How To Become A High Achiever My Criteria Of Achievement. 07.01.2022 The must-have ingredient for success in life is optimism. The question now is how we can be more optimistic in life! You can increase your optimism by following the steps below. See how things can be better. Not just better than how they are right now, but how they can be better than before COVID19. ... Ask the following questions: "What is this moment in time teaching me?" "What is great about this?" "What will I learn from this experience?" "Who will I become when I face this challenge?" Make a plan for success. Visualise and feel what success looks like. Visualise and feel what roadblocks you may encounter that could prevent you from achieving success. Visualise and feel the pain of the worst possible outcome. Most people would find this counterintuitive, but when we face the worst possible outcome, and we realise that we won't die from it, we gain confidence and optimism. Create plans for overcoming all roadblocks. Finally, act optimistic even if you don't "feel it". This might sound like hopeful thinking. Still, there have been many studies in psychology showing that people who act happy by pretending to smile actually do become happier. The same is true with acting confident. My bet is it's also true for optimism. As I write this article, we are dealing with the most significant challenge the world has seen since World War 2. COVID19 has caused not only health challenges but also economic challenges. It's easy to say that it takes more than optimism to overcome the challenges we now face. But without optimism, we're lost. During these times of considerable uncertainty, optimism is needed more than ever before. If optimism has helped you overcome challenges these last weeks drop a . 06.01.2022 When you want to reach your goals and become a high achiever, make sure you: Focus on the specifics of your progress and incessantly work towards improvement The devil is in the details. It's the little things that you do everyday that make the difference. ... It can be easy to trick yourself into thinking that it's this one project or one client that matters and that everything else is just noise. But it's those little things that add together to create one very big important thing, and therein lies your success. Anything worth doing is worth doing properly, so it's important to know which details are going to create progress and commit to them. 04.01.2022 How do you become a high achiever? I have created a guide to help you focus on reaching your goals. I call this guide the Criteria of Achievement. Here I will introduce you to the first three criteria: Work with motivation and work intelligently towards constant improvement... Having a dedicated work ethic isn't enough. You need a focus that drives development in the disciplines required to achieve your goals. Otherwise, you end up using all your time doing work for work's sake. Don't confuse taking action with achievement. Taking action in itself is very rewarding. The trap we can fall into, is that we don't align those tasks to our goals, or that we don't ensure that the work we do delivers significant value. Appreciate wholeheartedly those around you and what they do You can't achieve anything worthwhile in a vacuum. The people around you provide support and encouragement that enable you to achieve your best results. It can be so easy to take people for granted. When you do, they understandably become less motivated to take actions that support you. This can, over time lead to a situation where you may feel that it's just you against the world. The more appreciative you are, the more support you receive. It's one of the laws of the universe. Strive to learn and to teach; to continually develop your abilities Without continually developing your understanding of the subjects and skills that you need to master, you can be left behind. To create the forward momentum, you need to be continuously making new distinctions and figuring out new ways of doing things. Teaching is one of my highest values, it ties to my core meaning to enable others to reach their true potential. Drop a if you’re implementing the first three criteria.
