24.01.2022 The school holidays are fast approaching and we are trying to decide where to take the family. Wondering if anyone has any good suggestions on where we can go? We want to support Queensland tourism and businesses seeing as the borders are still closed and there are covid restrictions in place. Where is your favourite Queensland family holiday spot? Last holidays we went to the Sunshine Coast and stayed in beautiful Noosaville for a few days, a great place by the Noosa river.... We hired a runabout for a day and went up the river and through the lakes, it was the best! We had such an awesome time we are even considering going there again. Wed love to hear your suggestions! 05.01.2022 As a working mum you are always striving for the ideal work-life balance. Being able to separate work from home is always easier said than done, especially during the school holidays. Sometimes you just have to mix both and hope for the best! This week our little miss joined us at our work lunch meeting, as we discussed our business plans over the holiday period, she was the perfect little angel. I was explaining to her how ‘Mum’ and ‘Dad’ work together to build the business, and she summarised it beautifully when she said, Oh so you and Dad are kind of building LEGO together couldn’t have said it better! 04.01.2022 Who else watched Australian Ninja Warrior Grand Finale on Monday night? We were truly touched by some of the inspiring stories of the finalists, which proved that this competition was not only a test of physical strength and endurance, but mental toughness and stamina. Beginning with the most successful female contestant Olivia Vivien, who shared that at the young age of nine she was told that she would never win any medals or even make it as a gymnast because she was too tal...l. Yet she didnt let that deter her and went on to win countless medals in her career including winning a silver medal with the Australian team at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. Then to watch Ben Polson climb to the top of Mt Midoriyama and win the season was nothing short of spectacular. To learn that he was a victim of horrific bullying and abuse at school and he used that experience for motivation and drive, is truly inspiring. After winning when asked how he did it, the response was trained intensively for 12 months, and prepared himself mentally, visualising and clearly seeing himself getting to the top and hitting that buzzer. Just goes to show how powerful the mind and visualisation is when working towards achieving goals. And that no matter what adversities and challenges life throws at you, if you want it bad enough, put your mind, heart and soul to it, and train hard - you can achieve anything. Was good to catch up over a family dinner, kids had a great time together, and the restaurant had an amazing atmosphere, very relaxed and welcoming. We had an awesome training session with Chris and the Straight Up Digital team discussing growth strategies and their shared vision for the company. Our primary focus was on delivering exceptional customer service by utilising DISC profiling tools to learn more about each team members personality and behavioural traits. We do this to understand the teams motivations and preferences so they can work better together and serve clients more effectively. For a team that has achieved so much already, excited to see what they will accomplish next!
