25.01.2022 It’s with a heavy heart, tears In my eyes and a tiny piece of my heart broken, that I need to let you know that we ran out of time to find Pinkerbell a foster ...mum We always knew that she would not survive unless a foster mum was found for her, she was too small and her organs not developed enough to survive alone. I did everything I could for her. Pinkerbell did well in care for the first 72 hours but then she’s started to showed a few minor changes Animal welfare is the upmost important factor in my veterinary and wildlife nursing so Pinkerbell was kindly euthanised late last night so she didn’t have to struggle or suffer. I’m so sorry I couldn’t save you Pinkerbell may you rest in peace with your mum, you will never be forgotten A huge shout out to an amazing team of Wildlife Carers, Organisations, Zoos and Sanctuary’s all over SA for keeping an eye out for a foster mum with a special mention to 1300KOALAZ and Cheryl for giving your everything on this case I’d like to leave you with a quote from Wildlife Veterinarian Jess Law https://m.facebook.com/AdwildRehab/ Death is not the worst thing than can happen to an animal - suffering is! We have an incredible tool we can use to stop suffering. We need to embrace this tool that we have as veterinary staff and wildlife Carers because it is the single most humane thing we can do for animals in pain, diseased, malnourished, too old, too young and those that can never be released

21.01.2022 Our beautiful girl Stella who came from the Hamilton Pound has had 14 pups. Wow so amazing. So sad to think she was handed into the pound just thrown away. W...e would like to thank the staff at the Hamilton Pound for caring so much for this sweet girl and for Kellie one of our team leaders in Hamilton for bringing her up to our foster in Auckland. Amazing team work See more
