15.01.2022 Happy International Women's Day! We'd like to celebrate by highlighting one of Australia’s most important and influential 20th century interior designers, Marion Hall Best. Marion Hall Best (1905-1988) was an outstanding figure in the dissemination of the ideas of international modernism in relation to interiors in Australia. Best’s interiors vibrated with bold colours and patterns. Although she designed mostly private commissions, her work reached the general public through photographs and articles in magazines and newspapers, exhibition display rooms, and through her shops in Rowe Street, Sydney, and Queen Street, Woollahra. 07.01.2022 Recently I was given the opportunity to share my lamp passion with West Pymble Public School. Each class was given the project to create an art work that would be sold to raise funds for the school. My class stamped decorated patterns onto fabric which I then used to make a lampshade. To finish off, I upcycled a pre-loved lamp base. This is the finished product.
