23.01.2022 I love every order of Annie and the Waves - it means drowning prevention surf education in the hands of a child! Imagine how I am feeling this morning to have a reordering request from a NSW northern surf club for their nipper registration. Starting the season out with nippers already learning key safety messages is a really smart idea!

17.01.2022 Super excited to be a finalist in the Local Business Awards! It's been a huge two years since the children's drowning prevention book, Annie and the Waves was published. Writing the book was an amazing experience but seeing it make its way into the hands of children has been the best part! I'm loving the photo's of children reading Annie and the Waves. Hearing from parents, families and teachers how much it's engaged them has been incredible. Reaching a child is teaching a child and helping to save lives! 09.01.2022 With Annie slowly and surely finding her way into the hands of children, families and educators it's time now to focus more on the next publication that deals with the importance of learning survival swimming skills and the dangers around rivers, creeks, streams and dams. As usual there is a huge learning curve involved! I am feeling very grateful for the expert advice on river water flow and swimming hole design provided by Grantley from the UNSW Water Research Laboratory for understanding and rejigging my mud map.

05.01.2022 Dropping off a book package to a Central Coast school today and absolutely loving the scenery! I love making these deliveries in person when I can because Annie in the hands of teachers can reach so many children! Unfortunately with Coronavirus it’s a curb side drop but it still gives me so much pleasure!

04.01.2022 Rural children are 50% more likely to drowning when they visit a beach for a holiday than a child brought up near the sea! Its's super important to help children to learn about beach safety before their holiday. Its for this reason Surf Life Saving organisations send teams of surf life saves to the bush to help children to learn how to be safe at the beach. My family have toured as Beach to Bush presenters four wonderful times! It's from this experience that Annie and the Waves was created. The book is not just about beach safety and helping a child to know what to do if they need help in the water. It's about a child who needs time - time to overcome her fear of the sea. Time to learn to love the water!

03.01.2022 I need 15 people to help please. To support the amazing not for profit, We Care Connect, who provide care packs for vulnerable children on the Central Coast, I am running a raffle that will fund 100 surf safety books and sun care packs that will be given to children in their December care packs. Last year we funded 50 books to help provide surf safety education to children who may not be able to access programs such as learning to swim and Nippers.... The amazing Peninsula businesses and residents have provided the wonderful gifts listed in the picture below. You can help by selling a book of 10 tickets to your family and friends. Tickets are only $5 each or 5 for $20. Let me know if you can help?
