25.01.2022 24th Balaklava Eisteddfod 2020 CANCELLED Dates for next year - 30th, 31st July & 1st August 2021

24.01.2022 The Adelaide Plains Male Voice Choir Vocal Scholarship will be adjudicated on Saturday 3rd August this year at the Uniting Church following the Vocal Solo sections. The winner will be invited to perform at the Finale Concert on Sunday 4th August 2019.

24.01.2022 Choir sang today at St Georges Anglican in Gawler. So warm inside we actually had jackets off! Guest artists Shanna Goh and Ben Simmonds with his brass quintet were brilliant, I guess we were pretty good too. AGM this Wednesday evening, then a group dinner at Mallala footy club coming up to round off the year. Next year, we hope to meet and sing again fingers crossed!

22.01.2022 I won't be there, but I'm sure they'll sound good anyway

21.01.2022 FINALLY, we come to our first concert of the year! This Sunday, Balaklava town hall, 2pm, $15/head. Shared afternoon tea for all, provided by choir members and partners. Guest artists are Leah McGeorge, 2017 Choir Scholarship winner at Balaklava Eisteddfod and Alex Herreens, classical guitarist (so I'm told). This is quickly followed by concert at Hamley Bridge Catholic Church, Sunday May 6th also 2pm. Future events include Hillier, Hahndorf with Lobethal Harmony Club, and the SACCA weekend at McLaren Vale in August.

21.01.2022 Committee meeting last night followed by first practice since mid March. Sixteen in attendance (which is pretty good for mid winter!) and sounded OK ... choir may yet perform again next year

20.01.2022 Choir sang at Hamley Bridge institute last Saturday night, Thought a few more would have been in the crowd as it was free, due to 150th anniversary event of town! Still a pretty good night next up is St George's Anglican in Gawler on 14th October

19.01.2022 Ive been a little slack in updating you all what were up to! no surprise there TODAY we performed for St Matthews Anglican on Kensington Rd, Marryatville. They liked up a lot! ABSOLUTE HIGHLIGHT was a violinist guest artist named Ryan Nie, who is in his second year at Elder Conservatorium. Whats so great about that is he is just 7 years old, yes you read that right, seven!!! I havent a clue what I was doing at seven, but Im sure it wasnt anything like that! A real prodigy, and I sincerely I hope I hear him play again. Our next concert is at Moonta Uniting Church on March 22nd, so three weeks time.

17.01.2022 Now you can support us by investing in the People's Choice Community Lottery! At only $2 a ticket it's a bargain, and there are two main prizes at the end of it. Tickets bought under our portal in the Lottery website will benefit the choir directly, so come on board! Our ticket portal is inside the Arts section so you will have to scroll a bit to find it, but click on our symbol when you're in there, and go for it!

17.01.2022 Concert Sunday 31st March

17.01.2022 Hello gentle reader. Today we were to have a concert at Kensington, however wires got crossed some time ago and they advertised it as being 3rd November instead of 27th October. We were already committed for 3rd November so we had a day off instead. Nevermind, we'll go there early next year in the meantime, next Sunday we are at the Two Wells Community Centre (Footy Club) as a fundraiser for Adelaide Plains Crossroad Connections. Guest artists include Leonie Moore with Ezra and Charlotte Lockwood, who form a woodwind trio, also Abby Bubner, singer. Tickets available from Mallala IGA, Terry White Chemists in Two Wells, or Sharon 0429099820. Maybe even at the door!

02.01.2022 The choir members had a general meeting last night to discuss our own future. At the end, we seem to have fairly well voted to keep the choir going, simply due to the fact that we all love our singing, and enjoy the camaraderie of it all. Our next public appearance is at McLaren Vale on the second weekend in August event hosted by the Sisters Of Abundance!
