24.01.2022 Repentance is never-ending. By the grace of God, we can perfect all the virtues. But no-one can perfect repentance, because we need it to our last breath, since we sin ‘in the blink of an eye’. So repentance remains unconquered. + Elder Ephraim of Arizona

22.01.2022 THE DISBELIEVING DOCTOR: "Christ does not get infected by viruses" Demetrios Panagopoulos (1916-1982), the God-enlightend lay preacher, used to preach, even in ...the hospital Sotiria, where others did not dare approach due to the fear of tuberculosis. There he was accompanied the priest, Fr. Demetrios Papantonis, who confessed the patients and celebrated the Divine Liturgy. One day a doctor, who used to listen to the preaching, was troubled and approached the preacher, saying to him, "Mr. Panagopoulos, it is impossible for the priest to consume the content of the Holy Chalice. Many patients receive Holy Communion from it. As is well-known the tuberculosis virus is spread through saliva. So, what does the priest do with the Lord's Body and Blood, which is leftover? Does he pour It into the special sink in the Altar, where sacred things are disposed of? If so, isn't this a serious sin?" "Such a thing never happens," the preacher objected. "Christ does not get infected by viruses. Through the Holy Mystery there is no danger of infection." Nevertheless, the doctor was not convinced. So, the preacher urged him to attend the next Divine Liturgy and, at the end, to stand somewhere where he could observe the priest consuming the Holy Gifts. And so it happened. The doctor saw with his own eyes the priest consuming the content of the Holy Chalice. In particular, he saw him pouring wine into the chalice several times, taking care so that not even a tiny portion of the Lord's Body and Blood would remain. From then on, now only did the doctor believe, but he also attended Divine Liturgy and communed with the patients. 19.01.2022 Wall Street and the Bolshevik Revolution WATCH NOW: https://youtu.be/pd9B3cilgHY How Wall Street, the United States, and the European great powers helped the Bo...lsheviks take and consolidate power in Russia. A classic interview with Professor Antony C. Sutton, from 1987. Professor A. Sutton taught economics at California State University and was a research fellow at Stanford University's Hoover Institution from 1968 to 1973. During his time at the Hoover Institute, he wrote the major study Western Technology and Soviet Economic Development (in three volumes), arguing that the West played a major role in developing the Soviet Union from its very beginnings up until the present time (1970). Sutton argued that the Soviet Union's technological and manufacturing base, which was then engaged in supplying the Viet Cong, was built by United States corporations and largely funded by US taxpayers. 18.01.2022 The final volume of The Philokalia, Volume 5 is now in stock! The fifth and final volume explores the central themes of the 14th century Orthodox theology of Hesychasm, relating to the life of stillness, the practice of the Jesus Prayer and the contemplation and experience of God. It includes an Exact Rule and Method for Hesychasts, Angelikoudes' Chapters, full of mystical devotions and meditations on God and man as well as the profoundly philosophical work On Union with God and the Contemplative Life. Lastly, it concludes with exhortations for all Christians to pray unceasingly, in accordance with St Paul's injunction to "pray without ceasing" (1 Thessalonians 5:17) and the Lord's declaration, "Be still and know that I am God"(Psalm 45:11). http://www.apostlepaulbookstore.org.au//the-philokalia-vo/

18.01.2022 Fr Peter Heers has produced a series of introductory lectures called 'Orthodox Survival Course 2020'. It is simply fantastic. The first lecture consisted of a one hour talk by Fr Peter followed by 2 hours of questions! ... Although what we are experiencing today is unprecedented, Fr Peter discusses all of these world events on a spiritual level, making it easier to put things into perspective. This week is week 3 of 6 weeks, however, one can go back and listen to previous lectures if you've missed them and even though we're half way through, I highly recommend subscribing and joining in. The information is invaluable. Hear what people are saying: https://orthodoxethos.com//an-orthodox-survival-course-wha

12.01.2022 When I was young, I wanted to change the world. I found it was difficult to change the world, so I tried to change my nation. When I found I couldn't change the... nation, I began to focus on my town. I couldn't change the town and as an older man, I tried to change my family. Now, as an old man, I realise the only thing I can change is myself, and suddenly I realise that if long ago I had changed myself, I could have made an impact on my family. My family and I could have made an impact on our town. Their impact could have changed the nation and I could indeed have changed the world. ~ Unknown Orthodox Monk, 1100 AD

10.01.2022 BLOODY SUNDAY 1905 Watch Now: https://youtu.be/CLCPZddsUWs Narrated by the British renowned actor Constantine De Goguel Bloody Sunday, which took place on Sunda...y, 9 January 1905, constitutes, even today, one of the most misrepresented events in the history of Russia. From the beginning, more than any other event, Bloody Sunday has been set forth as the banner of Communist propaganda. Lenin even undertook the production of a film that depicted the so-called crime of Bloody Nicholas. Unfortunately, the period of Bolshevik dictatorship succeeded in etching what it desired in the consciousness of the people. But what exactly took place on Bloody Sunday, and what exactly was Nicholas’ responsibility for the entire event? 10.01.2022 The thing that you really feel in this book, which you don't feel in other sources, is the love, and I think that’s what people are really drawn to. Nicholas and Alexandra were one of the great love matches of the end of the nineteenth century. They adored each other from childhood until the day they left this earth and that love was reflected in the way they raised their children. Nick Nicholson Historian

09.01.2022 APOCALYPTIC TIMES Love toward Christ demands sacrifices. And truly the ancient Christians were subjected to sacrifices who, during the persecutions of the first... three centuries suffered numerous severe trials, and, the Christians of subsequent centuries, even till today, suffered with fortitude martyrdoms of equal force with those of the ancients (Neo-martyrs under the Turkish Yoke, Christians under the previous Block, Orthodox Serbians, and others). But in the end times it seems that the persecution will be even more clandestine. In order not to be regarded by the common opinion as cruel and merciless persecutors, so that neither their victims can draw sympathy, the persecutors will slaughter with white gloves, according to the common saying. Now they will not send forth irrational beasts and swords and flames and torture racks, because they know that these things render the persecuted ones sympathetic. They will utilize other methods with which though in reality they will be persecuting no sense whatever of threat or fear will be created. Quite the opposite, their weapon will be the bait. The Christian world will be enticed by the things they offer in order to follow them. Besides, we see also during the early persecutions that the persecutors utilized not only threats (tortures, executions) but also the enticements (promises, gifts, comforts, honors). If the faithful were then primarily in danger from the threats, it seems we are now more in danger from the enticements. 02.01.2022 Once, a possessed man came here to St. Anthony’s Monastery in Arizona for an exorcism. When we brought out the holy relics, the demon inside him began shoutin...g, You’re burning me! But Geronda’s relics burned him the most. He screamed: I can’t bear to see that Panagia of Arizona! And that Josephhe’s the one that planned this monastery. This man was talking about Geronda, even though he himself didn’t know him. The devil hates Geronda. Why doesn’t the devil swear at people who have diplomas and theological degrees, but instead he has it in for this unlettered old man who lived in obscurity? Because Geronda is the one who fought him and burned him with his prayer. Elder Ephraim of Arizona
