25.01.2022 This just had to be shared, a facebook memory from 2 years ago,........... our seriously stylish Emily who created a "headdress" from yes, a Christmas napkin lol. We think she looks absolutely gorgeous !! It has again been a HUGE year. We are all tired and exhausted but still smiling and all very much looking forward to spending some down time together this year to celebrate the festive season . We are very happy and extremely proud to announce that Dr Maree Wallwork, Obstetrician & Gynaecologist, has joined our Practice as an Associate. ... Dr Wallwork has worked and trained directly with A/Prof. John Pardey at both Nepean Public and Nepean Private Hospitals for several years. Dr Wallwork has also worked very closely with Dr Sarah Prixton during that time and they also share a great friendship. Dr Wallwork holds a Staff Specialist position at Nepean Public Hospital, and she will be delivering babies at the Private Hospital. Maree is a Mother herself and she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our Practice. Dr Maree Wallwork has begun to take on new Obstetric and Gynaecological patient bookings, with her first official day being Monday 6th August. 20.01.2022 WHOOPING COUGH (PERTUSSIS) ALERT It has come to our attention that a member of Staff has tested positive to Pertussis. Whilst the staff member had minimal patient contact during the infectious period, we ask that all patients and visitors to our Practice, be vigilant and watch for symptoms. Whooping cough starts like a cold with a blocked or runny nose, a fever, and occasional cough. If you experience any of these symptoms it is important that you seek testing and prophylact...ic antibiotics from your General Practitioner. The infectious period is for approximately 5 days after commencing antibiotics. It is very important to note that our staff member WAS VACCINATED against Pertussis, which means that prior vaccination does not always guarantee immunity. Pertussis is spread by coughing, and unfortunately it is currently quite prevalent in our community. 18.01.2022 WOW, What a week. In the last 7 days exactly, A/Prof. Pardey has delivered 14 beautiful babies which included only ONE set of twins !! Thank you to all of our patient patients who have waited.... and waited.... and waited for their appts, or have been moved around to other days. We appreciate your understanding very much. We have all certainly worked hard this week and just when the admin staff thought that they had completely run out of steam, today we all received a ...gorgeous gift each from one of our beautiful patients. Thank you Claire Spry (with her permission) for your very timely gift. We cannot begin to tell you how much this will be enjoyed. xx

15.01.2022 IMPORTANT COVID -19 UPDATE FOR PATIENTS AND VISITORS In response to the escalating Covid-19 crisis in our area, and owing to Kingswood and surrounding suburbs being identified by NSW Health as hotspots, it is now a requirement that EVERY PATIENT AND VISITOR to our Practice, MUST have a Covid-19 screening test performed approximately 72 hours PRIOR to attending their appointment. For the safety of our Patients, our Doctors and our Staff, you MUST show proof of your Negative ...result at the time you present for your appointment. We would like to reassure our patients that all of our Doctors and Staff are also having Covid-19 screening tests performed regularly every week, as an additional measure to ensure your safety. All non-urgent appointments have now been changed to Telehealth appointments. For testing, we recommend attending one of the NSW Health Public testing sites such as Nepean Hospital, Penrith Regatta Centre, or Nth St Marys, as the private laboratories are understandably overwhelmed, and unfortunately their results are taking a considerable amount of time to be returned. If you do not have Covid symptoms, and have not been identified as a casual or close contact, you do not need to isolate while waiting for your pre appointment COVID swab result. IF AT ANY TIME YOU DO HAVE COVID SYMTPOMS, YOU MUST GET TESTED AND ISOLATE UNTIL YOU HAVE RECEIVED A NEGATIVE RESULT. Our patients may bring one support person only to their appointments during this time, and that person must also have the same Covid-19 screening test performed and documentation of a current Negative Covid-19 test result upon arrival. Whilst we are encouraging our patients not to bring their children to their appointments with them, we understand that the logistics of this can be quite a challenge. For that reason, Children of our patients are permitted to attend appointments, however under Nepean Private Hospital's Covid protocols, they are not permitted upstairs onto the wards as visitors. We understand that this is a particularly difficult time for our patients, and it is certainly impacting our Practice in so many ways. As you can imagine, it is imperative that we keep our Doctors as protected as we can from the Covid-19 virus, and it saddens me to inform you all that A/Prof. Pardey has had to shave off his much loved beard this week. This was unfortunately essential to ensure that his PPE could be correctly fitted, and his mask sealed securely. We Thank you all for your understanding and your patience during this difficult time.

12.01.2022 Unfortunately there has been a lot of conflicting and incorrect information circulating recently, particularly on social media, with respect to Husbands/Partners not being permitted to attend the birth of their Baby with their Spouse. WE WOULD LIKE TO REASSURE OUR PATIENTS THAT THIS INFORMATION IS INCORRECT. At the time of writing, due to the current Covid outbreak and restrictions the rules for visitors to both the Nepean Private Hospital, and Nepean Public Hospital are as ...follows ; NO general visitors are permitted to enter the hospital. NO children are permitted to enter the hospital. The exceptions to these rules are ; One person (be it the Patient's Husband, Partner or Support person) IS PERMITTED to attend the birth of their Baby, and to visit their wife/partner and Baby whilst they are in hospital. One Parent is permitted to visit and support their child in hospital. One family member is permitted to be with a loved one who is in a critical condition, and addition exceptions are made where similar circumstances are identified. Patients and Visitors who reside, work, or have visited an identified high risk/hot spot LGA, MUST TELEPHONE THE HOSPITAL IN ADVANCE, and follow the instructions given to them with respect to the requirement of proof of Negative Covid testing results, self-isolation etc. All permitted visitors MUST ; Scan and register their visit using the Service NSW QR code at the hospital entrance, before entering the hospital. Undertake the screening and temperature checks by the hospital staff once inside the hospital. Wear a mask at all times. Dear Dr Pardey, Today we come and say a much awaitied and much appreciated Thank you !... 20+ weeks into our pregnancy after a not so easy to comprehend appointment, we were worried and scared about the future of our pregnancy and the life of our twins. You gave us so much confidence, knowledge and heartfelt support. We knew we had definitely chosen the best ! Your simple comment of ...... "Thank me the day that they start school" ... was something we held onto. It was more than just our pregnancy and unborn babies you were managing. You were helping us to believe in ourselves and our dream of having a family. So today is the day Dr Pardey !! Today, our precious babies both started kindergarten. <3 <3 Today, we are so thankful and give the warmest thanks to you. We are beyond blessed to have had you be there from Day 1 - helping us to start our family. So Thankyou for giving us you time, your knowledge, your expertise and your witty and amazing wisdom. xx

Dr Pixton has worked and trained directly with A/Prof. John Pardey at Nepean Public Hospital for several years, and she mimics Johns interest in Obstetrics and high risk pregnancy. Dr Pixton is also currently completing her Diagnostic Diploma in Ultrasound, specialising in Obstetric scanning AND She has recently accepted a Staff Specialist position at Nepean Public Hospital. On a personal note, Sarah lives locally and is married with a daughter. In her spare time (and in her own words) she "Just LOVES spending time with her beautiful little girl". <3 Dr Pixton has begun to take on new Obstetric patients (and is already VERY popular ! :). ) although she will not officially commence private practice work with us until towards the end of March. 01.01.2022 Yesterday we celebrated Christmas 2017 together in the city with John finally having a day where he was not on call, and we could all relax. The sun was shining, the location amazing and we all had a fantastic day. Just take a look at those happy faces ! :) Unfortunately it went far too quickly and it is back to work tomorrow and business as usual. We are however, counting down the days of last few weeks of December. ... Only 15 days until Santa comes !!
