16.01.2022 From The Federal Office. It's a busy time in the Federal Office with the processing of memberships and annual breeding returns. Thank you to the multitude of members who have renewed their membership, we greatly appreciate your continued support in these challenging times. Covid 19 has stopped us all in our collective tracks in relation to showing our ponies or attending APSB meetings or other APSB events. Each state branch has events set up ready to go in the coming season w...hen government regulations allow us to proceed, but in recent days it seems some states are taking one step forward and two steps back. In the meantime, committees are using the internet to set up virtual shows and competitions. On another note, registration entries in the first volume of the Gypsy Cob Stud Book Register were closed off on July 31 and volume one will be printed in coming weeks and available to members for purchase. In closing this update, our Federal President, Mr. Jeff Perry and members of Council again thank all members for their continued support to the Society in these unprecedented times and to all members and their families, please stay safe and well - we all hope that if everyone does the right thing in relation to Covid 19 restrictions, we will soon regain some normality back into our lives. 08.01.2022 APSB members and friends mourn the passing of well known identity in Geoff Beard of Victoria's Western District. Geoff was well known in equine circles throughout the state. A former Victorian Branch Committee member for a number of years, he also represented the Society in his many judging appointments around Australia at Royals and major events. For many years he successfully exhibited a number of top performing Australian ponies with his son David and daughter Marcia on ...board and himself with the reins in harness. Narada Pollyanna under saddle and Narada Laramie in harness are two ponies who will be remembered by many. These were bred by his father - in - law, the late Roy Jolly but there were also other successful ponies who carried his own prefix, Coldara. Geoff was also Ringmaster and Chairman of the Horse Council at Melbourne Royal for many years. Our sincere condolences are extended to his wife Lorraine and family. He will be well remembered by those who knew him. See more
