02.01.2022 **Informing a national strategy to reduce stigma and discrimination towards people with mental illness that is poorly understood in the community ** Researchers from the Centre for Mental Health at the University of Melbourne would like to invite you to take part in a research project. This project aims to inform options for a national approach to reducing stigma and discrimination towards people with mental illness that is poorly understood in the community. This project is ...funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health. Part of the project involves online focus groups with people with lived experience of mental illness and support people. These discussions will take about an hour and will be held between Mid-September and early November. Participants will be reimbursed $50 in the form of a digital gift voucher for their time. To ensure that our focus is on mental health conditions other than anxiety and depression, we would like to invite people with lived experience (either their own or as a support person) of bipolar disorder, personality disorders, psychosis or schizophrenia to participate. Participation from people who do not use these terms or identify with these diagnoses with experiences of stigma relating to these diagnoses are also welcome.
