11.01.2022 The Senate has approved the Government's budget promise to progressively cut income tax over the next seven years. From 2018-19, the 32.5% ceiling has been lifted from $87,000 to $90,000. Table 1 shows how your income will be taxed next financial year. A low and middle income tax offset of up to $530 will apply from 1 July 2018 until 30 June 2022 as shown in Table 2. The offset will be applied on an annual basis as part of the annual income tax assessment and is additional to... the existing offset. 10.01.2022 Of particular interest in the 2018-19 Federal Budget is: - for businesses, the 12 month extension of the immediate write-off for assets under $20,000; - for individuals, the increase in thresholds and changes to marginal rates, and - for Self Managed Superannuation Funds, reduced audit requirements and increase in maximum members to six....
