20.01.2022 Today's creative idea for making a funeral or memorial a little more personal is making the casket/coffin unique to your loved one. A few weeks ago we did a service for a beautiful family who painted the life story onto their Mum's coffin, it was absolutely stunning and really very moving. There are lots of options, if you need any advice please don't hesitate to ask us to help you with ideas.

20.01.2022 Talking about your lost loved ones can help put life into perspective while celebrating great memories. What’s their legacy? How can you cherish and nurture it? #saytheirname #griefawarenessday

20.01.2022 It can be hard to find the words to help a friend or loved one through their grieving process. I found this article online that I wanted to share that might help. https://time.com/5118994/advice-for-helping-grieving-friend/

17.01.2022 We would like to introduce you to some of the amazing funeral directors we work with. Introducing Karen Lucas at Artisan Funerals Artisan Funerals is a family owned business based on the beautiful Gold Coast, Queensland. Karen began her journey at a funeral home on the Coromandel Peninsula in New Zealand in 2001, learning all aspects of funeral care; from care and presentation of loved ones, through to arranging and conducting of funeral services.... Working within this close-knit community gave Karen a huge appreciation of the diversity of cultural, religious and often budgetary needs which must be met when someone has passed. Karen was then based for several years in Auckland, furthering her experience within a varied cultural community. Now based on the Gold Coast with her husband and young son, she is bringing some good old can do to funeral care here!

13.01.2022 I am always stumbling across grief stories to read online and this one touched my heart. https://www.griefandsympathy.com/joy-after-grief.html

12.01.2022 * World Humanitarian Day * World Humanitarian Day is observed annually on August 19th. The purpose of this holiday is to honour all of the humanitarians who hav...e tirelessly worked to further and promote a variety of humanitarian causes, all over the world. It is also a day to remember those people who have lost their lives in the service of a humanitarian cause. The final purpose of this U.N. sanctioned holiday is to raise the public’s awareness about humanitarian assistance activities that occur all over the globe and the importance of countries coming together to solve the world’s problems. This year’s World Humanitarian Day honours the front-line health workers - the Real-Life Heroes - including doctors and nurses, midwives and community volunteers, and those who risk their lives to ensure that everyone has access to health services, testing and treatment, protective equipment, and medication especially during the COVID-19 pandemic and all other emergencies. https://www.who.int//default-c/world-humanitarian-day-2020

12.01.2022 Creative idea for funeral and memorial idea number 4. This won't be for everyone. I love the idea of being able to memorialise my parents ashes in a pendant or ring, something I could keep close to me after they have gone. (I hope it's a long time before I have to think about it though!)

12.01.2022 Our first funeral livestream went off without hitch. What a fantastic piece of kit Teradek Go it has been a steep learning curve but it is extremely exciting to be able to offer this service to our families, especially during these difficult Covid times when services are limited by numbers and border closures. If you need our Live stream service get in touch with us today.

11.01.2022 They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.... #RemembranceDay

11.01.2022 A poem for a special Newhaven Funerals family we are helping today. He was a collector of people and experiences and we wanted to write something as unique as he was.

10.01.2022 It was so wonderful to meet so many great people at the InvoCare cheese and wine night. Thanks so much for a lovely night.

09.01.2022 * How to Help * Things to consider... We can't fix a friend's grief and we can't take it away for them. ... But, we can be there for them, when they need us. Whatever that means. Just listening if they want to talk. Just being there if they don't want to talk. No solutions, no words, just companionship. #griefsupport #griefsucks #griefassistance #griefguide #griefguidance #griefandloss

08.01.2022 This picture was taken in the rose garden of a beautiful woman we helped to farewell this week. It was the only rose in bloom. When we looked back at the picture with the family we were blown away by the beautiful ray of light caught in the picture.

05.01.2022 Some wonderful ideas

05.01.2022 How beautiful are these memory lanterns.

04.01.2022 Did you know that today is 'Love Note Day'? Love Note Day is a day to tell someone you love them, by writing a message of love in the form of a note. Though the traditional way of doing this is in handwritten form, eCards are another way of sending out a love message on this particular day. This day can be at its most effective when the recipient of the message isn’t aware that Love Note Day even exists! Consequently, a loving message will come as a pleasant surprise.... For couples that plan exchanging Love Notes, then doing so in unpredictable ways can make the whole day a fun experience. Leaving a note in a fridge, or on the inside of the bathroom door are just two examples. Love Note Day can be for any family members or for long time friends, too. It’s the perfect day to make someone feel appreciated through just a few heartfelt words. #LoveNoteDay

03.01.2022 Today's creative idea for services is about colour. Many families choose to theme their services in their loved one's favourite colours.
