25.01.2022 A big thanks to everyone who came to our last Art Play this morning! It was such a fun, relaxing morning, although it was also pretty hard not to tear up too. 24.01.2022 Were running a free make your own super hero mask activity at the Made on the Left Market tomorrow! Well be at the Esplanade Hotel in Freo from 10am to 4pm. We love it & cant wait to check out all the awesome artists & artisans at the Made on the Left market!

24.01.2022 A few people have asked about the new venue. Well be in the hall at St. Hildas Anglican Church in North Perth. The street address is 15 View St North Perth, and its only a couple of blocks from our old venue. Its even closer to the Angove St Cafe strip (yay!), has free street parking, and a sweet little playground. Well still be running Art Play on Friday mornings from 9.30-10.15am. The only hitch is that the new venue isnt available on the fourth Friday of the every month. So well have a week off once a month.

23.01.2022 On Friday 17th August were having a special Art Play TOY SWAP!! Well run a slightly less messy Art Play session (with stations like the rice tub, bubbles, watercolour painting etc) and set up tables inside for a toy swap extravaganza. The idea is that people can bring the toys theyve outgrown or never really gotten into, and hopefully take home something new and exciting! Any left over toys will get donated to the St. Hildas monthly market, which raises money and donations for local charity groups. The session will cost $15 like usual, and run from 9.30 - 10.45 at our new venue, the hall at St. Hildas in North Perth. If youd like to join us, just send us a message or text Erin on 0402453311. 22.01.2022 We had a lovely Art Play this morning! We made beautiful silvery love hearts, glittery cards, painted a neon love heart mural and poured a whole lotta rice. Thanks to everyone who came and got arty with us this morning! This was our last Art Play at the Woodville Reserve Pavilion, next week well be at our new venue - the hall at St Hildas Anglican Church in North Perth (15 View St North Perth)

22.01.2022 Were packing up for a flying-themed Art Play tomorrow! Well be making Japanese koinobori fish kites with beautiful streamer tails, playing with wax-resist watercolour painting, relaxing with the rice tub and racing paper planes. 21.01.2022 Our car-themed morning was so much fun! We rolled cars through paint and glitter, painted up some cardboard box trucks, stuck circles and rectangles onto our mural, played in the rice tub, made vehicles out of salt dough & recycled treasures, and created a match-box car racing extravaganza with our collection of mini step-ladders, pvc pipes and cardboard!! Thanks to everyone who came and enjoyed a very relaxing session with us this morning. Have an awesome weekend!

19.01.2022 We had a busy bug-filled morning at Art Play today! We cut up rainbow wool to make wiggly worms for our mural, collaged, made prints with painty leaves, played with pasta and salt dough, searched for worms and creepy crawlies (thankfully plastic ones ) in the rice tub, and held a friendly giant grasshopper, cute snail, tiny slugs and some of our home-grown tiger worms. Thanks to everyone who came and got messy with us! And all the bugs were safely released back into the garden & worm farm

18.01.2022 Hello! Art Play is back this Friday! Were going to have a fun, messy love-themed session to celebrate our last class at our current venue (the Woodville Pavilion). Well move to our new venue on the 6th of July, just in time for the school holidays. And wed like to say a big thanks to everyone who suggested a venue over the past two weeks. Weve looked into a lot of options and well be moving to St. Hildas in North Perth as of the 6th of July! Its a lovely spot, with 60s style hall, a fenced off grassed area and sweet little playground. Its only a few blocks from our current venue, has plenty of free street parking, and is so close to the Angove St cafe strip. And the best bit is Art Play will still only cost $15 (+$5 for siblings three and older)! Yay!

15.01.2022 This week were having a love themed Art Play to celebrate our last week at the Woodville Reserve Pavilion! Well be making beautiful heart-shaped stuffies, which well also paint. And well have a station for making happy mail cards (to give to your friends and family), and the beloved rice tub. And well be toasty inside with the heater on. 14.01.2022 We forgot that it’s Father’s Day this weekend! We’re adding a couple of rainbow themed Father’s Day activities to our Friday morning class tomorrow - we’ll have a card making station and we’ll pot up some ‘money tree’ cuttings (also know as jade, a succulent that’s super easy to grow!) in paper cups. 14.01.2022 Looking for things to do during the school holidays? Were running two special Art Play sessions on Friday 6th and Friday 13th of July, for kids aged 18 months to 10 years old - perfect for your little and not-so-little guys. Friday 6th - Make your own fizzy bath-bomb! Well make bath bombs using simple food grade ingredients (including food dye, herbal teas and edible essence) Friday 13th - Make your own super hero mask! Well bring our blinging collection of markers, wash...i tapes, sparkles, stickers, papers, feathers and jewels for you to make an awesome super hero mask. Both of the holiday sessions will have a mix of art and craft activities, as well as messy, sensory stations, designed to suit the ages of the kids booked in for the morning. Each class will cost $15 (+$15 for younger siblings 3 years and older). And both sessions will be at our brilliant new venue, the hall at St. Hildas Anglican Church in North Perth, from 9.30-10.15am.

13.01.2022 Anyone else have a house overflowing with toys that dont get used? Us too!! So this week were having a TOY SWAP at Art Play! Well still have a normal Art Play class, but were also encouraging everyone to bring their unwanted, outgrown toys. Well set up some tables, unload the toys, and people can trade in their old toys for something different. Any left over toys will be donated to charity. 12.01.2022 We had so much fun at Art Play this morning that we totally forgot to take photos! We had a fizzy, glittery session making our own kid-friendly bath bombs, playing with a sensory small world filled with sea life and iridescent streamers, creating little creatures out of clay, twigs, leaves and seed pods, and pouring a whole lotta rice. Thanks to everyone who came and got messy with us! Since we dont have any photos, heres some quick shots of us trying out our bath bombs at home. PS We love our new venue!!!

Were having a low-key toy swap (if youd like to bring a few things your kids have outgrown or not loved, youre welcome to swap them with us for some of our toys - any left over toys will be donated to charity). 10.01.2022 Hello everyone. Weve got a bit of a problem over here at Art Play - the council is doubling the cost of our hall hire as of next month!! Were lucky that weve had some busy sessions lately, but our numbers are often unpredictable over winter (kids & bugs - what can you do?) and the new hall hire fees will be hard for us to absorb as a business. We have been looking around for an alternative venue, but havent found anything that works as well. So, unfortunately, it looks like well have to raise the cost of a session from $15 a family to $20 a family. Does that still work for people? And let us know if you have any ideas or can suggest a different venue! Thanks Erin

10.01.2022 Our new Art Play venue is brilliant, but unfortunately its already booked out every 4th week of the month (so that the church can set up for their lovely monthly market). That means, well have Art Play this Friday (July 20), but not next Friday (July 27). Well be back the week after, on Friday (3 August). Sorry for any inconvenience and confusion! To help us keep track, well make a sticky post at the top of our Facebook page, which well keep updated with the upcoming session dates. Cant wait to test them out tonight Hopefully well be experts for our bath bomb making Art Play this Friday. This week well make custom bath bombs (with edible, kid-safe ingredients), and relax with a mix of art & messy play activities to suit everyone. 07.01.2022 Hello guys. Weve got a bit of sad news - after two years of messy art classes, were wrapping up Art Play at the end of this week. Its been a very difficult decision to make. Thank you so much to everyone who has joined us over the past two years! Its been incredible to share our love of messy and creative play with so many beautiful families. Weve really enjoyed being a part of this little community, and we are so grateful for your enthusiasm, kind words and support. Id also like to say a special thank you to my amazing mum, without her help, there wouldnt have been any Art Play. Well have one last class this Friday, let us know if youd like to join us. We played with rainbow coloured playdough, made rainbow clouds with recycled card and streamers, relaxed at the rice tubs, made super-shiny cards and decorated cardboard pots and planted money trees as Fathers Day presents! 05.01.2022 Hi everyone! Were taking an unscheduled two week break at Art Play, so we wont have a class this Friday (15/6) or next Friday (21/6). Ive come down with viral vertigo (oh so dizzy!), and well spend next week sorting out a new Art Play venue. Thanks so much for all the awesome feedback and venue suggestions!! 02.01.2022 Another lovely but super-busy morning at Art Play! Its the last Friday of the school holiday and we had a huge group today - a big thanks to everyone who joined us. And it was lovely to see so many big brothers and sisters of our regular crew! We had so many activities today - super hero mask making, a lego super hero watercolour mural, a water play potion making station, cheerio necklace making, the chalk mat and TWO rice tubs. It was a bit of an epic clean-up, but so worth it.
