24.01.2022 Party Theme Part 1 Our heart was filled with joy in the past 4 weeks! The Party theme sees many wonderful creations from the kids. From brainstorming, sketching to modeling creation, then storyboarding, children actively participated in the class and there is never a dull moments. They are having fun as well as learning at the same time (and the teachers too!). We are also pleased to see that kids who were shy at first and now putting their hands up when it was time for pres...enting their work to the class. This is a crucial segment of the program as, what good is a design if you can't share it with the world! This will also help them with their public speaking skills at school. 19.01.2022 Welcome to Term 1 2019. It has been busy past weeks for us here at Art Thematic. It is great to see so many new faces as well as those who have been with us for many terms. This year we are devoted to bring in new and exciting new projects for our little artists. Our enrichment program is based on inquiry approach, getting input from children and brainstorm together to come up with solutions. It is an engaging and fun for them to learn.

19.01.2022 Party Theme Part 1

15.01.2022 This is one of our favourite segments. At the end of the storyboarding workshop, we invite students to come up and present the work in front of the class. It is a satisfactory moment for us to see that children who had been shy at the beginning to finally have the courage to stand in front of the class. Public speaking and presenting is not an easy task even for grown up, but it is such an important element, including academically and even at workforce. At Art Thematic we believe it is essential to give the children an opportunity to practice this important skills when they are young, starting with art which they love.

14.01.2022 Today we will be running our class today via Zoom with the school closure. Preparing art kits to be picked up by our students.

13.01.2022 Here we go again Melbourne. Take 2 of lock down and staying home. Fortunately we are able to run the class at home. Getting ready to delivery supply to students. Hope everyone keeps well, don't forget your mask when you are out and about from midnight tonight.

12.01.2022 In the midst of this COVID-19 outbreak and with the WHO declaring it a pandemic, a statewide closure of schools is possible as indicated by the Premier. Art Thematic is taking a proactive approach and in the event of school closure, lessons will be made available to be delivered online. Teaching modules will be recorded as a video and posted on YouTube weekly. Materials will be packaged and available to be picked More details will be given if or when a school closure occurs.

09.01.2022 The class had been busy experimenting with using paper clay to create dinosaur! It had been a challenging experience for the children. The paper clay is a little harder to manage than the light clay. It requires lots of patience and attention to details. It also challenged the children's eyes and hands coordination. We were very pleased to see that many have set their imagination free and the dinosaur comes in all sorts of different shapes and color. Theme investigation, problem solve by inquiry and with some guidance, the children are able to explore their creativity to the full extent. We think that it is important to let the children unleash they imagination, as it helps them be critical thinking and problem solving. All these are crucial transferable skills for the classroom setting.

08.01.2022 Painting on glass! Children enjoyed this activity immensely. After the painting classes, we discussed the effect of the paints on the glass and their experience using it, how they could do it differently.

06.01.2022 Getting back to it!! Can't believe it's term 4 already. Today it's first day back at Art Thematic Auburn South and lots of fun in action. Today we discussed how we can turn an object into model, how we can effectively build the model by looking at it closely, the different shapes it is made out of. It teaches children how to problem solve, and working through a process. Next week, children are going build more fun elements to add to it. Who says learning can't be fun

05.01.2022 Currently running our class today via Zoom with the school closure. We are quite happy with how it turns out. It could be a another new way to deliver our teaching in the future.

04.01.2022 Model building: Acrylic painting and clay model building on canvas. During unit inquiring children were able to brainstorm and getting ideas which assist in their sketching. the canvas model was then build based on their sketching, turning ideas into 'reality'.

03.01.2022 It has been while that we last posted, but Art Thematic is still in business! Melbourne had been in restriction for the past months and we have been running classes online. Thank you families who have been supporting us during this time. It is so wonderful to see that children are fully engaged even through the screen. We hope to return to face -to-face soon in term 4.

02.01.2022 This afternoon children get busy at creating their master piece. From drafting, designing to constructing, children get the first hand experience on how to problem solve, transforming their design into reality.
