24.01.2022 Coaching Update. The club’s footy operations committee have been working hard behind the scenes to secure coaches for season 2020. While we are delighted to have been able to lock in many of our 2019 coaches to re-commit to the program, we still have some vacancies across our teams to fill the lead role. Mixed U8 - 2 vacancies... Mixed U10 - 1 vacancy Mixed U11 - 2 vacancies Mixed U12 - 2 vacancies Mixed U13 - 2 vacancies Mixed U14 - 1 vacancy (Green) Boys U15 - 1 vacancy (Red) Girls U16 - 1 vacancy Assistants The club will also take expressions of interest in assistant coaching roles for all teams. This would suit recent ex-players, parents or other members of the local community who are looking to gain experience - ideal for those harbouring ambitions to coach football teams in the future with some great mentors to learn from. Harmit Singh has again been enlisted by the club as Head of Coaching and will continue to provide a fantastic support network and resource to our on-field officials. 10.01.2022 - Vale Peter McDonald - The Ashy Redbacks would like to extend its condolences to the McDonald family following the passing of life member Peter on Saturday January 18th, 2020. Peter was a great stalwart and long time servant to Ashburton with 3 boys who played 100+ games at the club. He was vice president for 3 years and served further time on the club committee as Registrar. ... Peter was a fantastic and tireless worker for the club - principled, decent and hard working. A fantastic mentor for the many players he had the joy of associating with while serving as team manager for a number of sides during his long tenure with our club.
