25.01.2022 Sometimes the colours of the WA outback are just mind-blowing! Check out this amazing view of a group of salt lakes near Dalwallinu in the Wheatbelt it...'s nature's paint palette! Photographer Daniel Metcalf said he was on a joy flight from the Wheatbelt to Geraldton when he came across the stunning scene between Dalwallinu and Ballidu. Wetland ecologist Adrian Pinder told NASA Earth in 2015 that WA's salt lakes differ in color as a result of differing sediments, aquatic and terrestrial plant growth, water chemistry, algae, and hydrology. 24.01.2022 Latest Visitor Survey Results - March Tourism Research Australia has released the latest visitor survey results for the 12 months to March 2020. This means the results include a strong January 2020 and only capture the start of the impact of COVID-19 travel restrictions. Val...ue of Visitors to WA The survey results show the economic value of out-of-state tourism to Western Australia as at YE March 2020. Interstate visitor expenditure provided more than $2billion to the State economy and international more than $2.1billion. 19.01.2022 Russell McKinnon, just back from a trip to Geraldton, counted 250 caravans travelling north last Thursday! Caravanners are definitely back on the road. Went trying to buy LPG at the Puma at Tarcoola on the entrance to Geraldton, the sign said it was available and it wasn't. My wife asked where we could buy and the woman behind the counter said "30km north of Geraldton". We went into the Woolworths by the cathedral and bought it there where we will always buy in future and never darken Puma's doors again!

10.01.2022 +++++Suburban Hot Water Systems+++++ We are writing to you regarding the suspension of certificate AGA4624 affecting Suburban hot water service models SW6PA, SW6DA, SW6DEA, SW4DEA, SW4DECA and SW6DECA. We write to advise that we have been given approval by the Gas Technical Regulators Committee (GTRC) and the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) to progress to recall. While this is certainly welcome news there are still a few outstanding matters that we are wor...king through before we can begin to have water heaters inspected. The most important factor is landing gas equipment from the US that is needed to undertake the tests required by the inspection plan. Due to Covid19 and disruptions in the US/AUS supply chain, there has been a delay in obtaining this equipment. Without this equipment, gasfitters will be unable to complete the inspection required. We’re expecting this equipment to arrive in approximately two weeks at which point the recall process will begin. When this equipment arrives and the recall begins, consumers will be directed to a dedicated registration page on our website to register their water heater and complete an online form. This information will be used to provide you with a work order and a list of authorised recall service agents. You will then be able to contact your preferred service agent and book an appointment for your water heater to be inspected. If your water heater passes inspection, a CO detector will be fitted and no further work will be required. If your water heater fails inspection, it will need to be replaced. The replacement water heater will be a 2020 Suburban gas/electric, storage water heater (a like for like product). In the event that a 2020 Suburban is not available, the Coast RV recall team will discuss alternative options with you including a Suburban Nautilus instantaneous (gas only) water heater or other equivalent unit. Consumers that are seeking further information or have enquiries regarding Suburban hot water services are advised to contact our recall hotline on 02 9645 7685 or email [email protected].

04.01.2022 This vehicle and caravan weren’t speeding. It just goes to show what side winds can do on our roads. Luckily all occupants got out safely! If you add speed into the mix the results can be fatal. #fb This update came from the Shark Bay Police on Twitter

01.01.2022 Vale WAACCI Stalwart Gerry Kerrigan who passed away on August 4. We reproduce a story from the WA Caravan & Camping magazine of April 2018 in which he and wife Margaret outline their story.
