18.01.2022 It has been a while since you have heard from A Stitch In Time. After my return from Europe mid March I decided it was safer for all not to take on any alterations or repairs. Instead I made face masks, lots of them. But now it's time to slowly start doing what I really enjoy, being a tailor. I like to keep social distancing as much as possible, so I will wear one of the face masks I made and we have plenty of hand sanitiser. 10.01.2022 It is alright, we needed a lot of comfort food and had plenty of reason to skip our exercises. And now that favourite pair of trousers or skirt doesn't fit. 05.01.2022 During the week two clients came with their favourite shorts. The blue once were ripped, the green once had a hole burnt in them. The photos are of the repairs, perfectly wearable garments again. It is these sort of repairs I enjoy doing so much. 02.01.2022 Sometime something sad turns into something really good. My trusty old sewing machine of 25 years stopped working and it was taken to the best repair service in Perth. Unfortunately, the machine was beyond repair. Lucky I always have a backup machine, but that one can't do the thick denim or leather. So, after some research I went to the best sewing machine shop in the area and bought a brand new industrial machine. The Ferrari amongst the machines available. It is brilliant ...and now I can offer alterations of denim and some leather garments again. Bring it on, I am so exited. Karin.
