25.01.2022 News alert: Instant Asset Write-off extended Treasurer Josh Frydenberg announced on the 9th of June that the Government will extend the $150,000 instant asset write-off (IAWO) by six months until 31 December 2020. Under the measure, the asset must be both acquired and installed ready for use by 31 December 2020, instead of 30 June 2020. Full article on 2020 tax breaks at the link below

23.01.2022 Disclosure of business tax debts- The ATO can now disclose tax debt information of businesses to registered credit reporting bureaus (CRBs), but only if certain criteria are met. Those criteria will be set out in a Legislative Instrument that is being finalised. The Government has said that the ATO will only disclose tax debt information to a CRB if the business has an ABN and one or more tax debts of at least $100,000 that are overdue by more than 90 days.... 20.01.2022 Small businesses across NSW will be able to apply for funding to help them safely reopen after the COVID-19 shutdown. Under the new Small Business Recovery Grant, small businesses will be able to apply for funding up to $3000 to cover marketing and advertising expenses, make fit-out changes and train staff in how to work safely under the current COVID-19 health conditions.



19.01.2022 JobKeeper extension for employees- Employees are eligible in the extension period if they: Are currently employed by an eligible employer (including if you were stood down or re-hired).... 08.01.2022 In order to trigger payment of the Jobkeeper subsidy, businesses will need to lodge a Business monthly declaration for JobKeeper payment report with the ATO to confirm current details (this will be required monthly during job keeper). Then you get paid. The report (for STP registered employers), and for sole traders/partners etc, can be lodged in one of two ways. Details at the link below-

03.01.2022 While superannuation helps people save for retirement, the Government recognises that for those significantly financially affected by the Coronavirus, accessing some of their superannuation today may outweigh the benefits of maintaining those savings until retirement. Eligible individuals will be able to apply online through myGov to access up to $10,000 of their superannuation before 1 July 2020. They will also be able to access up to a further $10,000 from 1 July 2020 until 24 September 2020. Find the eligibility criteria at the link below.
