15.01.2022 From Monday 13 September, there will be some easing of restrictions for people across NSW who have received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine For those who l...ive outside the LGAs of concern, up to 5 fully vaccinated adults can engage in outdoor recreation in a person’s LGA or within 5km of home. Children under 12 will not be counted in this total. For those who live in the LGAs of concern, a household with all adults vaccinated will be able to engage in outdoor recreation (including picnics) for up to 2 hours within the existing rules (outside of curfew hours and within 5km of home). This is in addition to the ability to engage in outdoor exercise. People who live alone can gather with one other adult to participate in outdoor recreation within the same existing rules.

13.01.2022 I All, GDSFA would like to introduce game leaders to our mini roo games. We are aware that some clubs already run some sort of in-house program, however as an Association we would like to give everyone this opportunity. We would like to use this program to introduce anyone who may be interested in officiating games in the mini roo space and perhaps eventually go on and complete the level 4 refereeing course and join the GDFRA. The aim would be to create a better game day expe...rience for mini roos, consistent rules being played, a more professional feel with an official in the centre and the opportunity for younger people who are unable to complete the level 4 course at this time. Notwithstanding that we will take any age participant if they wish to become a game leader. Primarily participants would attend the course, only for a couple of hours, register to GDSFA as game leaders, receive a GDSFA shirt to wear when officiating. GDSFA will cover the referee fees for 2021 at a cost of $20 per game, this will allow all Clubs to promote at no added cost to them. Game leaders will be appointed by GDSFA, in conjunction with Clubs. Below is the link to register for the course, participants MUST register, firstly so we know how many to expect and secondly for sizing requirements. https://form.jotform.com/210608008760853 Attached are the flyers for the course, please promote on your social media pages and let’s see how many we can get! Thanks Yours in Sport

11.01.2022 VACCINATION DEADLINE EXTENDED FOR AUTHORISED WORKERS FROM AREAS OF CONCERN Following consultation with industry, authorised workers from local government ar...eas (LGAs) of concern now have until the end of 19 September 2021 to get vaccinated to allow them to continue to work outside of the LGA they live in, provided they have booked their COVID-19 vaccination by the end of Wednesday 8 September 2021. The extended deadline means authorised workers from the LGAs of concern must have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by the end of Sunday 19 September to continue to work outside the LGA they live in from 20 September. Authorised workers who are not yet vaccinated will have until the end of Wednesday 8 September 2021 to book their vaccination. From 9 September, authorised workers will be required to carry evidence of their booking if they wish to leave their LGA for work. The requirement also applies to a relevant care worker aged 16 and over whose place of residence or place of work is in an LGA of concern. This includes those who work in an early education and care facility or who provide disability support services. Authorised workers under the age of 16 years remain exempt from the requirement to be vaccinated. If an authorised worker is not vaccinated or does not have a medical contraindication form, they will not be able to work outside their LGA after 19 September 2021. Workers from the LGAs of concern are offered priority bookings for vaccination. Please use the following links for priority bookings: Authorised workers who live in LGAs of concern: https://www.nsw.gov.au//covid-19-vaccin/authorised-workers Anyone aged 16-59 who live in LGAs of concern: https://www.nsw.gov.au//priority-covid-19-vaccination-book Childcare, disability, and food workers who live or work in LGAs of concern: https://www.nsw.gov.au//early-childhood-disability-food-wo

09.01.2022 ***CROWN THEM THE 2020 CHAMPIONS*** CONGRATULATIONS to the Pride of Ponds FC who defeated Rydalmere Lions FC in the historic Cottam Cup Final and now joi...n Inter Lions FC 1983 as the only two clubs outside of the GDSFA to have been crowned Champions in over a century! The Pride put on a dominant display winning 3-0 and but for the Man of the Match performance from Rydalmere Goalkeeper Yacoub Yacoub, the scoreline would have been a lot more. They are deserved winners. Each Pride player received an exact replica of John Cottam’s 1915 gold medal, his final Award before enlisting for WWI and the team receives a prize cheque for $5,000! As difficult as this is to write, Johnny is now no longer in the GDSFA, and the mission now for all GDSFA teams is to BRING JOHNNY HOME in 2021! Blacktown District Soccer Football Football NSW
