15.01.2022 Do you use Nano AdBlock, and/or Nano Defender as an add-on in your browser? Unfortunately, it’s time to scrap these two. Although they have been great utilities, recently the add-on was sold by the original developer to an unknown developer in Turkey. After an update, it came to the attention of users that the updated version contained new code that allowed the add-on to spy on the user’s activity and intercept data! It is highly recommended that all users that use these add...-ons to remove them immediately and move on to a new AdBlock. Personally, we use uBlock Origin, as it is an open-sourced content filter/ad-block, with high efficiency towards low CPU and memory usage. We also highly recommend to clear your internet cache and cookies, and also log out all active sessions in all sites after removing these extensions. This is due to the malicious extension may have grabbed ‘session cookies’ meaning they could log into your account. Logging out a website should invalidate these session cookies and render them unusable for access.
