24.01.2022 Say Ahoy to our little Pirates! Today, the children participated in Talk Like A Pirate Day and came dressed up as Pirates! The centre participated in Pirate themed indoor and outdoor experience where all the children were able to extend on their sensory, motor and creative skills. We are so happy to be able to participate in such an important fundraiser to help raise funds for families affected by childhood cancer. This morning the children engaged In an outdoor obstacle course where they were able to focus on different fundamental movement skills. As the children made their way through the course their peers cheered them on! Its great to see the children taking responsibility for their own physical wellbeing! 21.01.2022 This week, the children have been engaging in Halloween based experiences to enhance their creativity and imaginative play. The Aurora educators have set up a variety of experiences for the children, along with delicious Halloween themed food from Miss Nadia . The Bumblebee’s explored multiple art experiences, literacy based sensory activities and child lead dramatic play. In the Dragonfly room, the educators set up multiple leaning experiences such as incorporating Henry The Skeleton dancing to music and doing yoga group times, the preschoolers also explored with many sensory based mediums and enjoyed creating bats and pumpkins with lots of colourful craft. Through these experiences, the children were able to extend and continue to explore their creativity, imagination, sense of identity, and decision-making skills.

13.01.2022 This week the children of Aurora have been focusing on Book Week which is held this year from the 19th to the 23rd of October. The children from the bumble bee and dragonfly room have been busy focusing on some exciting and meaningful experiences to help entice the children in all things literacy and story telling. Today the bumble bees focused on a social story called Thelma the unicorn. The children of the dragonfly room have been drawing their favourite characters from their favourite stories. We are looking forward to all the wonderful costumes and story books this week.

The Bumblebee educators have worked together to set up a new sensory bin for the children each day. The children have found a common interest in the story The Very Hungry Caterpillar along with an interest in Dinosaurs. 01.01.2022 Recently the children in our 2-3 year old room have been focusing on emotions and feelings. This morning the children enjoyed a group experience where we read the beautiful story In my heart by Joe Witek. Once we had read the story the children gathered in a circle around a large piece of cardboard. The educators then asked the children what colour their heart was today. Each child then had a turn at adding that colour to our heart.
