25.01.2022 ANNOUNCEMENT - HP Player Insurance ALA is pleased to announce the introduction of the ALA HP - Player Insurance Packet, as a much improved benefit for Senior and U23 Contracted Players. With steps taken to address risk management (men mouth guards, women goggles) ALA HP has secured increased benefits as an additional packet above the general ALA Player Insurance. "This additional cover includes an increase of , Medical, Dental and Income, with the aim to assist those athletes sustaining serious injury by reducing their financial impact, with treatment, recovery, rehab and getting our players back on the field as early as possible", said Director of High Performance, Paul Mollison.

13.01.2022 Following our 13th AGM we are pleased to announce that Glenn Morley, Caroline McLuckie and Abbie Burgess were elected to the ALA Board. Mike has been a long-time servant to our great game, joining the ALA Board in 2010 and has served as the Director overseeing the Growth Portfolio from 2010-...2020, President from 2012-2018 and Vice President from 2019-2020. Over his time, Mike has overseen and been directly involved with the establishment of the National Conferences, Development of the Quick Stix program and its inclusion into the Sporting Schools Program, the growth and establishment of the ALA’s workforce, inclusion of lacrosse into the UniSport Games and building key relationships with lacrosse stakeholder including World Lacrosse, other Lacrosse National and International Governing Bodies and Sport Australia. Mike’s impact on the game will leave a lasting legacy and also a strong platform for the sport to continue to grow, develop, thrive and succeed from. 11.01.2022 Following consultation and discussion with Member Associations and the Athlete Advisory Committee the ALA, in conjunction with the Member Associations, have decided to cancel the February 2021 ALA Men’s Box Lacrosse National Championship. Current state restrictions in place to address community health and social distancing such as no indoor contact sport for adults (specifically in Victoria), border closures, quarantine requirements and density limits and capped number of peo...ple allowed in indoor venues all have large implications on the planning and delivery of the national event. ALA acknowledges that this decision is disappointing for all involved, however this early decision provides clarity for players, coaches, the general community and our Member Associations.
