25.01.2022 Family Court Chief Justice Will Alstergren invited the ABF to meet informally today to discuss what can be done to improve the Family Court process. The Chief Justice has shown great concern for the distress fathers and their families are experiencing, acknowledging that the court needs to do more, which includes improving court processes, reducing delays and to ensure parenting orders are followed. His honour has confirmed that he is committed to ensuring fathers and their ...children are supported through the process and will investigate what can be done to deliver additional support services. While we wait for politicians to reform social policy, which may never happen, we need to look to the courts to improve how their services are accessed by parents. 22.01.2022 Here’s another terrible example of how the decisions of Mum are putting our kids at risk while Dad is often forced into a position of silence because of coercive control. From The Australian A three year old girl has died after being left inside a car in soaring temperatures, with her parents reportedly just metres away.... Rylee Rose Black was left in the car in Townsville as the mercury soared to 31C after her mother Laura Black, 37, dropped her three older children at school on Friday, the Courier Mail reports. The paper reports Ms Black was believed not to have discovered Rylee’s body until she went to pick up her older children. Ms Black and her boyfriend, Aaron Hill, 29, have been jointly charged with manslaughter, which carries a maximum sentence of life. Police on Friday ruled out drugs and alcohol as factors, but have mad no comment on how the tragedy happened. Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Miles told the Courier Mail it was a preventable tragedy and that the charge of manslaughter indicates that there has been negligence on the part of the people responsible for the child’s health and wellbeing. The next part of our investigation will be to further identify exactly the movements of all the parties involved, he said. Rylee was the youngest of four daughters Ms Black had with former partner Pete Black. Mr Hill appeared at Townsville Magistrates Court yesterday and the case was adjourned until December 14. Ms Black did not appear in court and her case was adjourned to the same date. The Black family have asked for privacy as they grieve the loss of their loved one. Coercion and control can happen to both parents with Dads most at risk thanks to discriminatory domestic violence laws that support the removal of children by mothers without penalty while police look the other way. The financial incentives are huge which makes the years of domestic violence, directed at fathers and their children, acceptable in the eyes of policy makers who enable the abuse and violence with laws that deem men the only perpetrators. 15.01.2022 The last few weeks we have spoken to a large number of fathers who have been the victims of false allegations of domestic violence and child abuse. In one case Child safety and police investigated dad and found him innocent with no case to answer but the mother kept making the complaints. The mother was found to no only be lying about the abuse, but had herself put the child at risk with regular drug use and exposure to adult themes and content over many years. ... Child protection decided Dad was not able to see his child unless supervised and so the years of trauma began. Now some 6 years later child safety has removed the child from mum after another police investigation, there had been a few, and placed the child in foster care. Turns out owning your own home, paying child support for all those years while trying to ensure his child was in school and being cared was for nothing, as Child Protection continue to say he is unfit to be a Dad. This fathers day just gone he got the call he knew would always come. It was his child calling him because mum wasn't there to stop it, and they were asking to see him for Fathers day. Child Safety got it wrong for all these years and still they won't change the assessment to allow him to raise his child. Now he is waiting for a time when the child can move out of faster care so he can finally get the chance to be a full time Dad. His honour has again outlined his concerns about parenting orders not being followed, and has flagged "imminent" changes to the contravention process, which will see parents who breach orders being dealt with very quickly to ensure children are safe, penalties are applied and that parents understand clearly that poor behaviour will not be tolerated by the court. Ryan has maintained his innocence and has not consented to the order and was found to have no case to answer with police dropping charges and removing the protection order. Ryan said: I have always taken a stand against domestic violence and find it abhorrent.... These accusations were distressing and extremely damaging to me and my reputation. 11.01.2022 Do you think there was any coercion or control in this domestic violence incident where Mum attacked her children and partner? Facts disclose the mother-of-three, who cannot be named for legal reasons, became enraged when her partner told her to get off her phone and start helping around the house. She began throwing objects, one of which hit her 14-month-old in the face causing her lip to split.... Her 41-year-old partner then said he was leaving and went upstairs with the injured child and began packing some clothes before calling 000. The three-year-old and the woman’s five-year-old son also followed. When the woman entered the bedroom a short time later, she grabbed the three-year-old and threw her forcefully to the ground. Throughout the entire incident the couple were swearing loudly, and along with the children’s screams and crying, could be heard by neighbours three doors down. So concerned were the residents that they tried to intervene themselves. Facts reveal neighbours from across the road knocked on the front door and attempted to remove the children, while other neighbours contacted police. When police arrived, no one answered and they were forced to bust down the door. Once inside, they heard all three children crying and located the offender who immediately became aggressive. The woman was arrested and conveyed to Penrith Police Station where she stated she did not touch the children but admitted she had gone into a rage. The court heard it was not the woman’s first domestic violence-related incident, having been previously convicted for ‘assault occasioning actual bodily harm’ in 2018. Magistrate Geoff Hiatt condemned her behaviour, saying it would have had a significant impact on her children. He noted she had issues with aggression when drinking but said that was not an excuse for her behaviour before handing her a 10-month jail sentence. The woman will not spend time behind bars however, unless she re-offends, after she was found eligible to serve her sentence in the community by way of an Intensive Correction Order (ICO). As part of the ICO, the woman must attend counselling and drug and alcohol rehabilitation. 04.01.2022 Received this message from one of our own who has received demands for cash after completing a financial settlement from 2nd ex two years ago. Even though they have been separated for 2 years she is demanding $50k cash or is threatening to take the matter further. When he said that he can give her some cash to help out she refused the offer and now believes she will get more if she engages lawyers. ... So not only is she damanding coin but now she has teamed up with the first wife, who has told her that because she got 70% of the property settlement when the first relationship ended, she should be entitled to that as well. This has all the hallmarks of financial abuse, with threats of extortion by way of, pay me the $50k or, I’ll involve the lawyers and take your super and more money threat! How long before she starts withholding access to his kids and making allegations of domestic violence? Fathers have been stitched up in family law matters for way to long now, and we need policy reform that will protect the savings and assets acquired before the relationship commences so that they are quarantined from any property settlement. The question is, If he doesn't value his own family how can we expect him to see any value in policy reform for our families? Cabinet minister Christian Porter was warned by then-prime minister Malcolm Turnbull about his public behaviour with a young female Liberal staffer, because of Mr Turnbull's concerns he could be at risk of compromise or blackmail. Key points: Christian Porter was given a warning by Malcolm Turnbull after Mr Porter was spotted "kissing and cuddling" a young staffer at a Canberra bar Another minister, Alan Tudge, angrily pressured a journalist to delete a photo of Mr Porter and the woman Mr Tudge also had an affair with a staffer A Four Corners investigation can reveal Mr Porter raised eyebrows among political staffers in 2017 after being seen with the young woman who was working for another Cabinet minister at Canberra's Public Bar. At the time, Mr Porter had a wife and toddler at home in Perth. Shortly before appointing Mr Porter to the role of Attorney-General, Mr Turnbull warned him he would be out of the ministry if he heard of this public behaviour with young female staff again. Only last year we saw fathers who were outed on a bogus ACA investigation by members of this group who tried to peddle a false narrative of abuse with the aim of restricting access to children after separation. Here's hoping the courts find all involved guilty, and that they are sentenced to long terms of imprisonment. ...
